Summary
The Spa inStardew Valleyremains neglected by the villagers living in Pelican Town, even after the 1.6 update.Stardew Valleymay have launched eight years ago, but the game still receives sizable updates. This includes the recent Update 1.6, which crushed lingering bugs in the game and made a wide range of new additions to the popular cozy game.
Stardew ValleyUpdate 1.6 added new festivals, new events, a new farm type, new dialogue, and a lot more to the game, giving lapsed players a reason to return and devoted fans an excuse to start a brand-new farm.Stardew ValleyUpdate 1.6 has proven to be a huge success, driving interest in the game and helping it climb back up theSteam best-seller chartsdespite being eight years old.

Many would agree thatStardew Valleyis a better game as ofUpdate 1.6, but there is one area in the game world that remains neglected. The lack of content related to the Spa has been pointed out by variousStardew Valleyfans over the years, with Reddit user MepyTV being the latest to make mention of it. They took to Reddit to ask why NPCs don’t visit the Spa in a post that has generated nearly 2,000 upvotes at the time of this writing. The explanation seems to be that the Spa is simply too far away for most Pelican Town residents to really take advantage of its features on any given day, though some still believe it would have been nice to see more content added to the area in Update 1.6.
Stardew Valley NPCs Still Neglect the Spa
As it stands, the Spa is seen as a creepy place by some fans because of how isolated and empty it always is. Update 1.6 would have been a good opportunity to shed that reputation by livening up the Spa a bit and giving players and NPCs a reason to visit. Beyond the fact that floating in theSpa pool restores one’s health and stamina, there really isn’t a reason to bother going there. Simply put,Stardew Valleyplayers have a lot more productive things they can do with the limited time they have in the day.
ConcernedApe is hesitant to ever completely close the door onStardew Valleyupdates, so perhaps a future update will add new content to the Spa, but fans shouldn’t hold their breath. For now, ConcernedApe is working to squash lingering bugs in the PC version of Update 1.6 and then bring it toStardew Valleyon console and mobileplatforms, though a firm release date hasn’t been set yet.
