Lost Arkis not like most MMORPGs. Players who have followed along with this genre might hop in thinking they know what to expect, then get in over their heads. In many ways, those who have never played an MMO might do better than a veteran when first picking up the game.

Amateurs and industry experts alike do seem to make the same mistakes when playingLost Ark. There are layers to this game that take time to understand. Seeing what mistakes get made and fixing them is all part of the learning process.
10Letting Work Energy Max Out
Most games don’t put a cap on how often a player can mine or fish. In Lost Ark, it’s possible to gain lots of experience doing these tasks, but there is a reasonable time limit to keep gamers from maxing out the skills in a single session.
Before leaving any play session, drain this meter so that it fills up while offline. It’s still quitepossible to level rapidly, but new players won’t realize how important it is to keep this empty until the endgame. They’ll wish they had realized its importance earlier.

9Mistiming Skills And Awakenings
Onthe to-do list after hitting level 50is to grab the awakening ability, referred to in the community as an ultimate. These have long cooldowns and should be used in moments such as big boss fights. Using this kind of skill on groups of enemies might look cool, but it’s overkill.
This applies to all skills and abilities, especially ones that have longer cooldowns or take time to charge. They might not be active all of the time, but a bulk of what makes the class shine depends on landing these shots. Wait for a moment in the action to get the shot off cleanly, boss fights don’t last long enough to give out a second chance.

8Killing Enemies For Experience
In short, killing enemies yields negligible experience. The amount of kills it would take to gain a single level is too staggering to even imagine.Lost Arkplaces all the significant experience into quests. The beasts and monsters don’t account for much.
It’s a common error, since killing a few extra monsters in mostgames likeLost Arkis how players stay ahead in the leveling process. That’s not the case here. Mount up and ride past them, the reward for killing extra enemies is very poor compared to moving on to the next quest.

7Investing In Gear While Leveling Up
New players will be excited to learn that they can transfer their levels in gear to other pieces of gear when they get better items. It’s possible to do before level 50, but it’s truly unnecessary. New gear is going to come in at such a rapid pace that transferring these levels will be a hassle.

At level 50, by all means, get that gear score climbing through the roof. But until then, relax and enjoy the journey. Equip pieces of gear that upgrade the old pieces, sure, but don’t invest any extra resources into anything until this point.Learning about the endgamewill reveal how valuable this time is that should have been spent leveling and not messing with gear.
6Getting Hit
There is no healing class or skill inLost Ark. Shocking, right? Yes, there are two support classes and a tank class, but they use buffs and shields. Wounds that are sustained have no simple means of being healed by other classes.
Asthe game gets more popular, more players will be confused by this. This MMO is not designed for players to be constantly taking damage and healing. Rather,Lost Arkasks players to stun enemies with attacks and evade bosses when they swing.

5Drinking Potions While Questing
Potions are among the most valuable creations in the game. As players max out their strongholds, they’ll find that making them takes time and resources. This creates lots of regret for all of the times when players were given a stack of potions and they drank them casually as they got hurt.
Instead of healing with potions, just die, resurrect, and run back. It will take about a minute to get back to the location on a mount but these potions take hours to make at the endgame. Take one if a dungeon gets brutal, but do not use them for simple questing.

4Saving Collections For Later
Collections even sound like something to do at the end of the game. So most players won’t even bother to open the Adventurer’s Tome until the very end, when it seems like the best time to pick up all of these hidden goodies. But that’s a mistake.
Many of these bosses to fight and Mokobo seeds to collect don’t just give a cute cosmetic item or title, they give experience and rewards. This will make the leveling process go by much smoother than it ordinarily would. Plus, it saves a great deal of time for players to collect less and focus on endgame content more.

3Not Adjusting The Field Of View
Since the camera automatically focuses on the player to get their view centered, field of vision becomes an issue. When a lethal boss is winding up to drop a huge explosion, players will want to see it being cast before it’s too late.

Those who use the default settings will have a smaller field of vision than others who have changed it. For those who don’t have a 21:9 aspect ratio for maximum view, there is a button that forces the monitor to accept these dimensions. With that done, gamers can now see enemies and secrets that would have been just offscreen before.
2Forgetting About Rapport
Players will gradually meet NPCs with whom they can build up their rapport. But they’re in different cities on different continents and there isn’t much to think about when they aren’t part of the missions. At the endgame, players will wish they hadn’t spaced this.
Visit them every day. They’ll wind up having cards and collectibles that can’t be found or purchased anywhere else. Those who don’t have a high enough rapport won’t get access to them.

1Not Using Multiple Presets
Players start with two “slots” for gear, cards, and skills. This enables players to change their build with just a few clicks. Top-tier players switch it up frequently, using one for mobs, another for bosses, and then unlocking a third for PvP.
Support players and tanks will especially find it useful that they can max out their DPS when they’re alone and then, when it’s time to fulfill their role, they can flip back in a snap. If nothing else, two slots allow for some important experimentation with other builds and skills.

Lost Arkwas released on December 4th, 2019, and is available on PC.
