WhileFortnitenever really stopped being talked about, the past few months have brought the battle royale some of the most attention it has ever seen. From a successful Marvel-themed event to a ridiculously profitable Travis Scott concert, Epic Games has been making plenty of smart moves with the free-to-play game as of late. However, the most recent bit of news has seen the reveal of a massive crossover skin inGod of War’s Kratos, withHalo’s Master Chief all but confirmedto join him due to the discovery of datamined items.
With the inclusion of an exclusive PlayStation character withinFortniteand an equally popular Xbox protagonist likely to arrive in the game soon, there is more potential than ever before when it comes to crossover skins. With Epic Games now having a working relationship with Sony and supposedly Microsoft as well,Fortnitecould see the inclusion of more Xbox and PlayStation characters. While there are plenty of characters that would look great alongside Master Chief and Kratos, there are a few options from the Xbox and PlayStation lineup that stand out as the most exciting.

Spider-Man
Fortnite’s Marvel crossover may have come to an end, but it concluded with a few major heroes never having made an appearance. Both of Marvel’s iconic Captains, Captain Marvel and Captain America, were absent from the event. Multiple high-profile X-Men members were also absent fromFortnite’s fourth season, and despite Dr. Doom having a large role, the Fantastic Four were not seen. However, the biggest omission by far was Spider-Man, as the webslinger never showed up in-gamedespite someFortniteleakshinting that he would.
While Spidey may have missed out on the battle with Galactus, the web-slinger could easily still come to the game. Not only has Epic Games shared plans for more Marvel content in the future, but with a Sony partnership seemingly now in place due to the inclusion of Kratos, Insomniac’s take on Spider-Man could join theFortniteroster. Peter Parker could drop into the battle royale wearing proudly wearing the Advanced Suit, and withVenom already inFortnite, Spidey would have the perfect foe to do battle against. With Sony and Marvel’s permission, an entire Spider-Verse event could happen as well, bringing the many different looks of the webslinger to the game. If there is one Marvel hero that desperately still needs to come toFortnite, it is undoubtedly Spider-Man.

Doom - Doom Guy
IfFortniteever embraces thepotential for a Console War event, providing an even number of Xbox and PlayStation characters would be a necessity. Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda opens up the potential for plenty of iconic characters to carry the Xbox banner in such an event, with one of the easiest choices being the Doom Guy. While the incredibly powerful demon killer may prefer taking on the forces of Hell, it would be great to see him rip and tear his way through the massiveFortniteroster.
Epic Games could include the character’s Super Shotgun as a special item drop alongside his appearance, and a Harvesting Tool version ofDoom Eternal’s Crucible blade would be impossible to pass up. With the character consistently rumored as aSuper Smash Bros.addition andset to arrive inFall Guys, another battle royale game, the Doom Slayer would be a perfect fit for theFortniteuniverse. With two power armor-users on Team Xbox, PlayStation would be going up against some tough competition in a hypothetical console vs. console event.

Uncharted - Nathan Drake
While Naughty Dog’sThe Last of Usseriesfeatures plenty of memorable characters, the characters from theUnchartedfranchise seem like a better fit for theFortniteuniverse. Coming from a less realistic universe with a more lighthearted tone, Nathan Drake would fit perfectly into Epic Games battle royale. Apart from being a PlayStation icon, the character has been seen wielding weapons similar to those inFortnitefor years, meaning that Nathan Drake would not look out of place in the slightest. With numerous opportunities for special emotes as well, a skin based onUncharted’s hero could prove to be incredibly popular.
Epic Games would also have a perfect story explanation for Nathan Drake’s arrival inFortnite, as the fortune hunter could stumble upon an artifact that pulls him into theFortniteuniverse. A perfect release window could also be coming for Nathan Drake’sFortnitecameo, as the release ofthe upcomingUnchartedmoviecould mark a great time to drop the crossover character. Hyping up the film and being a natural fit within the battle royale game, Nathan Drake would be a hard inclusion for Epic Games to top.

Gears: Marcus Fenix
WhileGears of War 6will see Marcus Fenix facing some major threats due toThe Swarm getting a new queen, the character could be given a much-needed break via aFortnitecrossover appearance. Pulled through a portal by Agent Jonesy, Marcus could do battle againstFortnite’s colorful cast — something that should serve as a bit of relief for theGearsprotagonist. With Epic Games free to include an alternate version of Marcus, giving him his younger appearance as opposed to the aged look ofGears 4and5, the skin could be the full package for fans of the franchise.
Much like Nathan Drake, the character is another natural fit within theFortniteuniverse due to his 3rd person shooter background. Another fully human character that can be easily translated to the graphical style ofFortnite, Marcus would be a great pick to round out the potential Xboxcrossovers inFortnite. With another Harvesting Tool opportunity via the chainsaw onGears of War’s Lancer Assault rifle, a crossover with Marcus Fenix is something that Microsoft and Epic Games could easily work together on.

Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West - Aloy
With characters likeGhost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai andDays Gone’s Deacon St. John still on the table, narrowing down a final entry for PlayStation additions is challenging — but one option seems better than the rest. Aloy from theHorizonseries would be amazing to see inFortnite, with the bow-wielding protagonist being able to scale Tilted Towers instead of a Tallneck.Aloy has plenty in common with Kratosalready, and an appearance inFortnitecould join their list of similarities if Sony has interest in bringing another exclusive character to the battle royale game.
With Aloy already having a history of crossover appearances, asshe appeared inMonster Hunter Worldawhile back, aFortniteskin would not be too surprising. Epic Games could go above and beyond with an Aloy crossover as well, making the character’s bow usable in-game. With the weapon effective against massive machines like the Thunderjaw, it could easily bring down foes inFortnite, making for a fun limited time weapon drop. With Aloy’s spear also offering Harvesting Tool potential, she seems like the natural choice for a final PlayStation crossover character.
Fortniteis free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
