1No More Heroes Series

In theMy Hero Academiaseries, Japan has a ranking system for Pro Heroes that uses various factors to determine who the ‘top’ heroes are, like their strength, popularity, and the number of resolved incidents. After All Might’s retirement,Endeavor becomes Japan’s number onepro hero because of his high number of resolved cases, despite being less popular than both Hawks and Best Jeanist.

TheNo More Heroesseries has the United Assassins Association which ranks prominent assassins from all over the world. During the firstNo More Heroes, Travis Touchdown rises through the ranks as he defeats various assassins in the top 10. Taking out the competition to claim their spot isn’t something that the Pro Heroes do, but just like in No More Heroes, the ranking system is important to many heroes as it effects their popularity and how much they get paid.
