This makes the recent achievement of Steven Spohn even more impressive. Spohn is the COO of AbleGamers, a charity that helps people with disabilities play and enjoy video games. Spohn himself has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which affects his muscles and spinal nerves. This obviously makes it difficult or impossible to do many things, including play most video games. Nevertheless, Spohn recently posted a clip from his Twitch stream showing his firstFall Guysvictory. Hewon an absolute triumph inFall Guysusing a hat modified into a controller in the final dash up Fall Mountain.
According to Spohn, the hat controller uses infrared sensors to read his movements and move his character. It’s the kind of innovative solution that his organization, AbleGamers, is trying to improve on and make available for more players. One important project Spohn has worked on with Microsoft is the Xbox Adaptive Controller, an adaptable hub for multiple devices designed to work for and adapt to the needs of players with limited mobility.Spohn has also worked with Ryan Reynolds to promote AbleGamers, talking about how the charity helps players overcome their unique challenges to play their games.
Spohn’s love forFall Guysis far from unique, and it is only bringing together a distinctly wholesome community more and more.
