Modern celebrities are much more open about their gaming habits between projects, and Chloe Grace Moretz is no exception as she prepares to dive into the sci-fi fantasy looter shooterDestiny 2. The actor’s love of video games is seen all over her social media, whether it is talking about her regular game rotation or giving some quick thoughts on the recentCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2beta. However, one interaction appears to have been enough to convince the former Hit-Girl to venture to The Last City and join Guardians in their ongoingfight against The Witness.
Destiny 2is currently in its fifth year of content, kicking off with the release ofThe Witch Queenexpansion in February 2022 and pits guardians against the Hive god of cunning Savathun. The story continued into Season of the Risen, which saw The Last City and Cabal Empress Caiatl cement their alliance, and Season of the Haunted, a season centered around the return of Calus and the Leviathan in orbit around the Moon. Season of Plunder is the current season and saw the return of Eramis, forcing players to join forces with The Drifter, Mithrax, Eido, and The Spider to stop her from acquiring mysterious artifacts of Darkness.

Moretz’s own interest in the looter shooter was seemingly piqued on Twitter when she asked about any games to help her fill the time following theModern Warfare 2beta. She ran down her current game rotation, which includes twoCall of Dutygames,Final Fantasy 14, andGrand Theft Auto Online. Twitter user deRanged Shaman simply responded with “Destiny 2,” which appeared to be enough to convince the actor to download the game.
The actor’s love of gaming has been well-documented during her career, ranging from roles in high-profile games to promoting with some of the biggest companies and personalities in the space. In the case of the former, her most notable role was as Emily Kaldwin, the kidnapped Princess of the Isles, in 2012’sDishonoredfromBethesda and Arkane Studios. As for the latter, Moretz has gotten the chance to work with the likes of Alienware, Angry Joe, and Achievement Hunter, to name a few, in some manner to promote new products, in the case of Alienware, or as part of press tours for her own films.
As mentioned above, she was recently sharing her own enjoyment of theModern Warfare 2beta on Twitter, which appeared to catch many in theCall of Dutycommunityoff-guard. She openly said she was “obsessed” with the game and was playing “non-stop” while it was live, going so far as to share her leaderboard position from one of her matches. Moretz clarified afterward her previous post was “not an ad” and she is a “genuine fan” of the series.
