There are plenty of great companions in theMass Effectfranchise, but few are as interesting as Jack. Alongside a tragic story and emotional character arc, Jack’s appearance inMass Effecthelps her stand out from the rest of the cast — though one fan has made a huge change to her design.
This is hardly the firstpiece of Jack fan artthatMass Effectfans have shared. In fact, one great image was posted by Jack’s voice actress Courtenay Taylor back in February. Focusing on how the character might look if she was thrust into the world ofCyberpunk 2077, it gave Jack a Judy Alvarez-like hairstyle. Twitter user @WildCardHoney continues this trend of longer hair with their own Jack design, making Jack’s hair more reminiscent of Miranda’s.

While one may expect thisversion of Jackto look strange, she actually looks great. @WildCardHoney uses Blender to make a 3D render of the model, showing Jack as she would look in-game. Alongside her large red lips and big eyes, the dark hair ends up being shoulder-length, which is a stark contrast to her original appearance inMass Effect 2. With several artists showing Jack with longer hair, though, there does seem to be a desire in theMass Effectcommunity to know how it might look.
Given @WildCardHoney’s use of Blender to bring Jack to life in this image, this could be the closest that players ever get to a official version of the character with long hair. If it is, at leastMass Effectfanscan be pleased with the fact that this 3D art piece is incredibly well done. Jack’s outfit resembles the one that she wore inMass Effect 3, with a leather jacket leaving her arms and chest visible. This allows her to show off her tattoos, something that her outfits always did in the main trilogy.
Though a long-haired Jack may seem a bit surprising, it is actually par for the course. Duringthe events ofMass Effect 3, she is seen with more hair than she had inMass Effect 2. While it is limited to the top of her head and a small ponytail, it is a noticeable difference. Assuming that this trend had continued in another appearance, Jack may have had long hair like she does in this piece of fan art. While she is unlikely to appear inMass Effect 4given the seemingly large time jump, a character model like this one would have worked well.
WithJack’s romance inMass Effectbeing a highlight for many gamers, seeing her with a new hairstyle is intriguing. While some may prefer Jack’s shorter locks fromMass Effect 3or her bald look fromMass Effect 2, it is hard not to appreciate the work @WildCardHoney put into the long-haired model.
