Apex Legends, thewidely popular battle royale game, announced a brand new game mode that releases today and will be available only through January 17th. It is part of the Grand Soirée event, which features seven rotating new game modes available for one or two days.
TheApex LegendsGrand Soirée event started on January 14th and will end on January 28th. The event also features new challenges and rewards earned from playing the limited-time game modes.

The newest game mode, Live.Die.Live, gives players a chance to respawn without having to grab a teammate’s banner and taking it to a respawn beacon. When the circle moves, dead players will be brought back to life near their teammates as long as one player from the squad is still alive. To unlock rewards associated with the LTM, players must play one game of Live.Die.Live, skydive 10,000 meters in the game mode, and win one match. Beating all of these challenges will earn 1000 arcade party points, the currency used for the Grand Soirée event, and a total of 14 rewards can be obtained by earning arcade party points. These rewards include badges, stat trackers, several weapon skins, and even a Mirage skin.
The first game mode released in theApex Legendsevent was Gold Rush Duos, which throws players into battle with one other teammate and only gold weapons scattered around the map.Duos is one of the most requested game modes, so including it in the event appeals to many players. The challenges for the Gold Rush Duos required one played game, one win, and dealing a certain amount of damage within the game. Based on the challenges, it appears that one challenge will be based on different stats in the game modes. The challenge for the Live.Die.Live of skydiving 10,000 meters should be achievable because every respawn, players are sent skydiving down to their teammates.
Every game mode will probably come with at least one unique challenge to unlock event items. The game modes are listed with release dates below.
There are five remaining game modes to try, so check back daily to earn rewards. Third-person mode will be the next game mode available, which will turn the game into athird-person shooter. Always Be Closing will feature a ring that continuously shrinks, while Armed and Dangerous is a previously released game mode that has only shotguns and snipers available on the map. Night Game will turn the map into night, while the Dummies Big Day has not been explained, but it will be exciting to see when it releases on January 26th.
Since the release ofApex Legends, players have been kept busy with plenty of content being released consistently. However, withmany players still requesting new characters, weapons, and skins,Apex Legendswill hopefully keep ideas fresh and release new content at the rate it is now. It is towards the middle of the season three battle pass, and since there is no new character, it seems players will have to wait for the next season for a new character.
