Assassin’s Creed Valhallawill be one of Ubisoft’s first games to release on both current-gen and next-gen consoles. Ubisoft has been advertising thatAssassin’s Creed ValhallaandWatch Dogs Legionwill run at 60 fps in 4K resolution. However, a report now claims that both games may not run in native 4K on either the PS5 or Xbox Series X.

According to Beyond3D,Watch Dogs Legionruns with a dynamic resolution on the Xbox Series X. It’s worth noting thatWatch Dogs Legioncan run with a minimum of 1440p, and some scenes in the game can hit a native 4K resolution, but it’s not a constant. Similar toWatch Dogs Legion, Ubisoft confirmed thatAssassin’s Creed Valhallawould run in upscaled 4K/60 fps on the PS5. However, Ubisoft has not specified the internal resolution that the game will eventually use.

Of course, while the PS5 and Xbox Series X have their own unique features, both next-gen consoles feature similar technology inside. Given this, it is assumed that bothAssassin’s Creed ValhallaandWatch Dogs Legionwill run at upscaled 4K instead of native 4K for both next-gen consoles. However, players should note that the exact graphics settings that both games will be using on next-gen consoles are still unknown. Assuming that these claims turn out to be true, it appears that only the PC will be able to runAssassin’s Creed ValhallaandWatch Dogs Legionin native 4K resolution, but of course, only time will tell once both games are released on next-gen consoles.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft announced several days ago that it is launching a shortmanga to promoteAssassin’s Creed Valhallain preparation for its release in November. Ubisoft Japan revealed on Twitter that the comic depicts a brief encounter between Eivor and Thorfinn, the latter being the main character ofVinland Saga. Unfortunately, the manga is only six pages long, and it is assumed that its story will not form part of the existing canon of theAssassin’s Creedfranchise.

However, some fans were confused when the manga preview only included the male iteration of Eivor. However, since theAssassin’s Creed Valhallamanga is not officially considered canon, it is likely a practical move on Ubisoft’s part to only release one version of the character in the manga instead of creating two separate versions to depict both genders of Eivor. Nonetheless, fans of the female Eivor can at least imagine her to be in the manga since the character’s figure is mostly obscured in the final panels.

Assassin’s Creed Valhallalaunches on November 10th for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It will release for PlayStation 5 on November 12th.
