Baldur’s Gate 3will be receiving a physical Deluxe Edition on all three platforms in Q1 2024, and Larian outlined all the details on the game’s website. While games have steadily been moving away from physical copies, there is an everlasting appeal in owning all the different goodies that come with Collector’s Editions, such as maps, statuettes, posters, and even canvas bags of questionable quality. As Larian prepares to unveil theXbox release date forBaldur’s Gate 3during The Game Awards, Xbox fans will already be able to pre-order the upcoming physical Deluxe Edition.
While Larian had earned credibility in the gaming community for its work onDivinity: Original Sin, theimmense success ofBaldur’s Gate 3propelled the company to new heights. Swen Vincke, CEO and founder of Larian Studios, had already announced that the team was developing their next title while also not fully closing the doors onBaldur’s Gate 3receiving some type of DLC in the future. Given that bothOriginal Singames received a Definitive Edition roughly a year after release, it wouldn’t be out of the question for Larian to continue this pattern withBaldur’s Gate 3as well.
It could be argued that physical Deluxe Editions have become less accessible in terms of price, as theConstellation Edition ofStarfieldasked Bethesda fans for $300. However, players can breathe a sigh of relief as Larian announced that the physical Deluxe Edition ofBaldur’s Gate 3for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation has a price tag of $80. It’s important to note that whereas the Xbox and PlayStation versions will be playable-on-disc, the PC disc forBaldur’s Gate 3will instead come with a custom installer, Steam CD key, and will require an internet connection.
