Islets - Fighting Sword Boss

There are quite a lot of people who could jump right in toIsletsand have a great time. However, there are also others who might not have a good idea what, exactly, they are doing at first. Luckily, there are some beginner tips for these players to know.

7Exploration Is Key

Isletsis a game all about exploration. The game is a Metroidvania, after all, so a lot of what a player will be doing is a bunch of backtracking and squirming their way into every corner of the world.

A player should remember to explore the world ofIsletsas much as possible. Theonly way to find all sorts of itemsand rare weapons is to explore the world ofIslets. That is why a player should try and search through every nook and cranny ofIsletsin hopes of finding something to improve with.

6Returning To Old Areas Can Bring New Info

When a player goes through a new area for the first time, they will comb through every bit of the area, find new content, finish up on whatever they were doing, and leave. There is usually no incentive for a player to return to an area they already went to…unless there is new content waiting for them.

A large part of Metroidvania games is the fact that a player will need to backtrack alotthrough the game. However, a player will be greatly rewarded for backtracking- as they go through the game, old areas will gain new content (such as items or a new pathway unblocked) for them to go through.

5The Invincibility Frames Are Very Useful

When Iko does a roll to dodge a particularly quick attack, there will be a few frames of invincibility that triggers. These frames will essentially mean thatnoharm can come upon Iko whenever they are up, regardless of what attack is launched upon the player.

A player should absolutely take advantage of these frames. Not only do they keep the player safe, but they stay up for a decent amount of time after completing a roll.

4Buy Map Markers

As withall Metroidvania games, there is a huge, sprawling map that a player will gain near the start of the game, and use it to at least try and get a vague idea as to where they are going. Even then, this map can be pretty confusing, due to the fact that it is very likely for a player to get lost and not know where they are.

A player should save up for map markers to buy them in Sky City. These markers will let players know where upgrades are located - from HP upgrades to damage upgrades and more, a player will always want to know where new upgrades are.

3The Sword Smashing Ability Is Really Strong

When a player gets used to combat, they will soon figure out that some moves are better than others. As it turns out, the Sword Smashing ability is one of the best moves out there.

While the sword smash can be used to break rocks on the ground, it is also insanely strong as an actual attack move. After a player unlocks its shockwave, it is one of the best moves to use to kill bosses, thanks to its high damage and multiple hits.

2Do Not Forget To Climb Walls

Eventually, a player will figure out that they can, in fact, climb up walls. This is a great way to get to new places that they might not have been able to go to just by walking.

There are all sorts of secret passageways a player will only be able to encounter if they hop up and climb some walls.Of course, these passagewayshold all sorts of secrets - such as rare items or new upgrades - so it is good to follow through on them.

1There Are Secret Areas Everywhere

One of the best things aboutIsletsis just what is in store for a player if they take the time to look for every hidden area in the game. While there are a lot of secret passageways that provide rare items, there are also bits of lore sprinkled throughout the game.

A player looking to 100%Isletsor just wants to get a good taste of the full story should remember to keep looking around for secret areas. There is always a new place to go and find.
