Bouchard spoke to Collider aboutupdates on theBob’s Burgersmovieand he’s here to reassure fans that the film is still very much going to be released, just not right at this moment. He states that he’s very excited about releasing the film into the world “at the right time.” The right time he’s referring to has everything to do with audiences embracing theatrical releases in the aftermath of COVID-19. Most theaters only began reopening in the last few months, and Bouchard made it clear he isn’t ready to releaseBob’s Burgers: The Movieuntil audiences feel completely safe and comfortable in theaters.

He finished his statement with, “We don’t have a date yet, we’ll announce very soon. But we are hard at work on it.” Bouchard is also hard at work on several other projects, includingThe Great NorthandCentral Park, both of which were renewed for season 2. There are currently no plot details aboutBob’s Burgers: The Movie, though it is labeled as being in post-production on IMDb and will still star H. Jon Benjamin as Bob, Kristen Schaal as Louise, Dan Mintz as Tina, Eugene Mirman as Gene, and John Roberts as Linda.

Bob’s Burgersofficially became a member of the Mickey Mouse family when Disney acquired 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets. Of course, theBob’s Burgersmovie will be released under the newly rebranded 20th Century Studios banner.

Until Bouchard or Disney comes forward with a formal release date, fans can watch the first 11 seasons, including the celebratedThanksgiving and holiday episodes ofBob’s Burgers, which many consider some of the best on TV. Plus, with vaccinations continuing and the world gradually reopening, Disney may feel comfortable setting a new release date for the movie sooner rather than later.
