Players have realized through several tests thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’sperkis a tad overpowered. Players wielding the perk are practically invincible to grenades, rockets, and other explosives. Some examples show that players laying flat on the ground can survive multiple grenades before dying. This invincibility is best shown in a clip created by a Reddit user and shared by CharlieIntel. In the clip, the player is loaded into a private match where they are firing rockets at another player. The enemy is presumed to have Flak Jacket equipped, and they are seen taking a direct rocket blast to the chest without dying. To further prove the point, the player shoots to the player’s side to kill with splash damage, and once again, the player lived.
In theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warcommunity, many players agree that direct hits from grenade launchers and rockets should be instant kills in almost every scenario. These are weapons designed to disable helicopters and tanks. Hence, the idea that a player could survive a direct hit from an explosive is outside the bounds of game realism.
OtherCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayersare concerned that nerfing Flak Jacket could cause grenade spam to become an issue. There is a perk in the game that allows players to spawn in with two grenades in every life. With so many grenades on the field, players could easily just be tossing them around and catching collateral kills.
According to Treyarch Community Manager FoxhoundFPS, the developers are already looking into the problem. This confirmation does mean aCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warpatchmay be on its way, but when the fix will appear remains unknown at the current moment.
