While theCall of Dutyseries hasn’t traditionally had a battle royale mode,Call of Duty: Black Ops 4had its very successful Blackout mode. The battle royale genre has quickly taken over since the likes ofPlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,Fortnite,Apex Legends, and the aforementioned Blackout.

Leaks started flowing aboutCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehaving abattle royale since the summer of 2019.
