As of right now,Call of Duty: Modern Warfarehas no solid color weapon camos. That doesn’t mean demand for them doesn’t exist, though, as fans have been asking for a while.
Apparently, though, fans aren’t the only ones who want to see some solid color weapon skins make it into the game. A member of theModern Warfaredevelopment team, artist Joel Emslie, says that he’s a fan of solid colors, too. What’s more, Emslie claims that Infinity Ward is alreadyworking on trying to put the skins into the game.

The statement comes in response to a Reddit post created by AdhesivenessHS. The Redditor entreated Infinity Ward to “finally” add solid colors. He presented an image of a solid-teal camoed gun from the video gameThe Divisionas an example. And Emslie, under his Reddit account artpeasant, told AdhesivenessHS that Infinity Ward was “looking into it.”
It does sound then that Infinity Ward plans to implement the new weapon skins sometime in the future. It may not be during the currentSeason 1 weekly rotation ofModern Warfareupdates; however, a Season 2 release sounds very likely, especially considering some players are still trying to unlock the camos that released right alongsideModern Warfare’s launch.
There are over a hundred of these camos, and they’re available for everyweapon inModern Warfare. Players can find them spread across 11 different categories, the first ten of which progressively unlock every time a player achieves a specific milestone level with a particular weapon. Once at level 69, the player will have the first ten basic categories unlocked for whatever weapon they reached 69 with (they’ll have to repeat this with every other gun if they want the camos for them).
Each basic category features ten different camos for players to choose from, but they’ll have to unlock these camos by completing specific challenges that (while remaining mostly the same across the board) can vary from weapon to weapon. Only after completing these challenges will players unlock the 11th and final category, where they can try their hand at earning gold, platinum, andDamascus camos.
Needlessly to say, players already have a lot on their plate when it comes to unlocking camos. Still,Call of Dutyhas never featured solid weapon camos before, so ifModern Warfaredoes implement them, it’ll be the first game to do so. It’s no wonder then that some fans can’t wait to see it happen.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
