There are several secret weapons hidden among theCall of Duty: Modern Warfareengine. While some of them are found by data miners, others are discovered by accident. This is one of those cases where a strangeCall of Duty: Modern Warfarepistol appeared, and it was not a gun already in the game.

Although primary weapons are valued higher, there is still a level of excitement when a secondary becomes unearthed. Every new gun affects the overall meta of the game, even if that gun is a sidearm pistol from a previous title.

The clip was posted to Reddit by ppbmc1 who was enjoying themselves in a private match against a bot when suddenly the bot dropped a small white gun. This pistol, in its untextured state, looks like a toy gun and it is very small yet recognizable by many in the game’s community. Fans werequick to identify the pistol as aCall of DutyMakarov, a small side-arm that has appeared in the previousCall of Dutytitles.
The Makarov pistol appeared in the originalCall of Duty: Black Opsas a sidearm of the NVA and Spetsnaz. This is a small magazine-fed pistol that can pump out a three-hit kill but due to its small range usually resulted in a five-shot kill at anything further than close range.
The main weakness of this pistol is its small magazine capacity. The gun can only hold eight rounds due to its size, which forces players to have precise aim if they have any chance of scoring a kill. Players in the original title would oftendual wield thisCall of Dutypistol, but it was easily outperformed by the CZ-75 dual wield.
While this is a very small and relatively underused weapon, many fans still find it interesting thatit has appeared inModern Warfare.The gun has only ever been in threeCall of Dutytitles and in none of them was it a meta pick.
If the Makarov is found to becoming toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare,it is unknown if it will see anything other than minimal play. Hopefully, the developers will give the gun a small buff allowing it to compete as a viable sidearm.
