Call of Duty: WarzoneandModern Warfareare embracing the spooky Halloween season entirely as October 31 approaches. Activision andInfinity Ward announcedWarzone’s Halloween eventin late September through a trailer onCall of Duty’s official YouTube channel.
The trailer revealed some of the new content that is coming toWarzoneandModern Warfareon October 20, including brand-new festive cosmetics and game modes. Now, Activision has put out an in-depth blog post on itsCall of Duty: Warzonepage that details all the new rewards and modes coming this Halloween season.

There are numerous games that get updated content to reflect the passing seasons. Plenty of multiplayer titles get seasonal updates, likeFortnite’s upcoming Halloween event.Call of Duty: WarzoneandModern Warfareare no exception, and Activision has fully shown off all the new content, cosmetics, and modes coming to the game on October 20. This is the first time thatModern WarfareandWarzoneare getting Halloween content, and it looks like Infinity Ward is going all out.
For the Haunting of Verdansk, named afterWarzone’s map, there is an emphasis on two big-screen horror movie franchises.SawandTexas ChainsawMassacreskins, as well as various cosmetics are going to be available throughout the event. However, there will also be a “Trick or Treat” Halloween event in Verdansk which acts as a scavenger hunt. By opening specially marked Trick or Treat supply boxes, players can receive Halloween-themed rewards like the “Return to Dust” Assault Rifle blueprint or “The Cleaver” melee blueprint.
Additionally, other Halloween-themed cosmetics like holographic watches, weapon charms, new stickers, sprays, calling cards, and emblems will be available through Trick or Treat supply boxes. However, it seems there may be a price to pay for opening up some supply boxes, as “they might also contain a brief scare, so open them at your own peril!” By collecting all 16 individual Trick or Treat rewards, players can unlock the ultimate treat: A “Pumpkin Masher” Legendary Assault Rifle blueprint. All of this content is part ofModern Warfare’s Season 6 content, which has already added new weapons and blueprints to the game.
Plenty of other spooky goodness is coming toWarzoneandModern Warfarealongside the cosmetics. Verdansk is getting a new dark theme in select modes that feature Halloween scares. Finally, the blog posts touchesWarzone’s new Zombie Royale mode, where dead players come back as Zombies to terrorize survivors. All of this content is only available for a limited time, so it should be worth checking outCall of Duty: WarzoneandModern Warfarethis Halloween.
