Call of Duty: Warzoneis once again going through radical changes. Raven Software recently deliveredCall of Duty: Warzone’sSeason Two Reloaded, a mid-season update that made sweeping changes across the battle royale. AsCall of Dutyfans are well aware by now, however, sweeping changes often come with unforeseen issues. Season Two Reloaded is no different. A nerf to sniper rifle headshot damage is confirmed to have been more severe than intended, but Raven has already taken action.
In a message shared on Twitter,Raven Softwareconfirmed feedback fromCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers regarding changes that had nerfed sniper rifle headshot damage. It seems that sniper rifle headshot damage had been nerfed in a way that Raven did not want, however. As such, Raven has pushed a small update that brings sniper rifle headshot damage back in line with what it would like inWarzone’s standard battle royale mode.

An explanation for the issue wasn’t provided. However, it’s easy to see what the problem was. Following the Season Two Reloaded update, sniper rifles were no longer killing enemies in a single headshot. This is a staple aspect of Call of Duty’s action, particularly in multiplayer. As such,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayersobviously took issue and, at the very least, wanted clarification from Raven regarding whether or not this new sniper rifle damage amount was intended. Raven’s made clear its stance, now.
Where the issue might have cropped up is tied to one ofCall of Duty: Warzone’s biggest changes as part of the Season Two Reloaded.Default health for playersin the battle royale was increased from 100 to 150, a 50% increase. Sniper rifle headshots may have been delivering enough damage for an instant kill at 100 health, rather than at the new health cap. It could very easily have been a weapon balance issue, too, of course.
What’s particularly notable about thefix for sniper rifleheadshot damage is how quickly Raven was to issue a fix. This is something that could easily have been left for a later update, but Raven made sure the fix went out extremely quickly. Raven is clearly wanting to avoid any negativity from derailing the work that’s gone into Season Two Reloaded.
The update forCall of Duty: WarzoneSeason Two Reloadedhas only been available for a short amount of time. The verdict on its quality has yet to be decided. But it’s still good to see Raven putting its best foot forward to address bugs as fast as it’s able.
