Despite CD Projekt Red’s (CDPR)Cyberpunk 2077getting delayed for the third time, pushingCyberpunk 2077’s release to December, recent rumors have appeared online that suggest that the game is going to be hit with another delay, ultimately sending it to 2021. However, CDPR has picked up on the rumors and reassured fans that the actual release is indeed in December.

The source of the rumors was a post on ResetEra that stated how the officialCyberpunk 2077Twitter account removed the game’s release date from its header image, causing many fans to become worried and foresee a delay for the game in the near future. If the rumor turned out to be true, then that would mean thatCyberpunk 2077would be delayed for a fourth time, thus making fans wait even longer before getting a chance to play it.

The rumor spread like wildfire and a number of communities and media sites picked up on it, which in return caused CDPR to reassure everyone that the rumor was not correct. While speaking with IGN, a CD Projekt Red representative stated that the company doesn’t comment onrumors surroundingCyberpunk 2077, however, also told the news outlet that “[…] we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.” Seeing as how this is an official statement from CDPR, the possibility of a fourth delay is somewhat small.

IfCyberpunk 2077was delayed again, then it’s safe to say that would not sit well with some members of the fanbase. For instance, after CDPR announced that the game would be delayed until December, someCyberpunk 2077’s developers received death threatsfrom angry fans demanding them to release the game.

On the other hand, it’s difficult not to give into rumors dealing with possibleCyberpunk 2077delays. Although the game has been delayed multiple times at this point, it has been delayed for a reason, which ultimately means that the developers are working to ensure a quality product and verify thatCyberpunk 2077runs on all consoles, including the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as current-generation ones. Essentially, more delays could mean a better gameplay experience on launch day.

Ultimately, seeing as how the game is a month away from release, the only thing fans can do isremain optimistic and hopeful aboutCyberpunk 2077and that it comes out without any issues or future delays. SinceCyberpunk 2077has been delayed three times now, this should hopefully be enough time (in total) for the development team to release the game. Seeing how CDPR recently double-downed on the December release date, all what’s left to do is wait.

Cyberpunk 2077is scheduled to release on December 10th for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions also in development.
