WhileCyberpunk 2077is well known for its bugs and sweeping ambition, its characters can also be quite memorable, especially Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand. OneCyberpunk 2077fan was so fond of Silverhand that they created a custom Johnny Silverhand groupie filter for Instagram users.
InCyberpunk 2077, Silverhand is an in-universe rock star–or at least, he was one while he still had his own body–so groupies may fit his image well. EvenKeanu Reeves has been spotted buying Silverhand merch, showing that his rebellious appeal crosses the boundary between video games and reality. Reddit user FloARrrr was following in Reeves' footsteps when they created a custom Instagram filter that overlays some of the game’s cybernetics over the user’s face and shows Silverhand standing behind them, one arm over their shoulder.

FloARrrr showed off the results in a short, 11-second-long video in which they shift around, move their head, and change the angle they’re holding the camera at, all while the cybernetics and the image of Silverhand move with them. While this version ofJohnny Silverhand might not steal the show, he is still recognizable and may add a lot of flavor to the background of the image. Although his hair is clearly pixelated, his face and arm may come off as quite realistic from certain angles.
Being a holographic entity, Silverhand’s presence is often accompanied by glitches and visual distortions in the game. FloARrrr does not appear to have incorporated this into the Instagram filter, but they did give him a blinking animation and the ability to open his mouth. Just asCyberpunk 2077’s developers are still fixing bugs, FloARrrr also intends to add more features and polish to this filter in the future. According to the creator, the current build of the filter was created in just two days. The download link is available in the comments under the original post.
As of writing, fans appear to be in favor of the Instagram filter, though one did note that it would be cooler ifJohnny Silverhand glitched the way he does in the game. Another Redditor compared the filter’s version of Silverhand to a Stand fromJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, while a few more observed his striking resemblance toRed Dead Redemption’s John Marston. One user joked that Keanu Reeves might want gratuities for the use of his image. Others joked that the way FloARrrr positioned Silverhand’s metal hand around their shoulders made it look like he was feeling their chest.
Cyberpunk 2077is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrades are in development.
