Woll shared a themed poster forDeadpool 2on Instagram to mark Thanksgiving. In the caption, she wrote, “Happy Thanksgiving.” She thanked her supporters over the years before taggingDeadpoolstars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Zazie Beetz, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Karan Soni, and comic writer Rob Liefeld. The post sparked rumors that she is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) inDeadpool 3.
Woll was aware of the reaction from fans because she updated her post, seemingly addressing the various questions, especially those who wanted to know if they would see her in the upcomingDeadpoolmovie. TheTrue Bloodactress clarified that neither she nor Daredevil would be part ofDeadpool 3.According to her, the post doesn’t mean anything more than what it is; it is a simple Thanksgiving post. “Q: Gobble? Gobble? A: Gobble. Gobble,” she wrote, ending the matter on a humorous note.
Fans' reaction to Woll’s post was unsurprising because they hope to see her again in the MCU. Woll was among the fan-favorite actors on Netflix’sDaredeviland Matt’s primary love interest. Many were disappointed when they learned she wasn’t part of the reboot. Several even felt leaving Karen’s character out ofBorn Againwas a mistake because of her significance to the titular superhero. Woll also admitted that she was open to joining the reboot because she loved her character and telling that story. She felt there was more to say because they were canceled when they thought they would have more seasons. However,Woll didn’t receive a call to joinDaredevil: Born Again.
Although the idea of aDaredevilandDeadpoolcrossover is appealing and possible, as both characters have crossed at least five times in theDeadpoolcomics, it’s also understandable that it’s not happening this time.Deadpool 3will feature Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and adding another major character in the mix will be too much given that many are looking forward to Jackman and Reynolds' tandem. Also, Woll’s post proves that not everything on social media has a hidden meaning. Sometimes, they are what they are and should be taken at face value. Additionally, the Thanksgiving-theme poster that Reynolds uploaded forDeadpool 2and Woll decided to share was festive and perfect for the occasion.
