Missing Jamal is one ofDead Island 2’s Lost and Found Missing Person quests that sees players return to the Halperin Hotel in Bel Air to search for a missing security guard called Jamal. Lost and Found are some ofDead Island 2’s best side missions, as some can lead to legendary weapons or other worthwhile rewards.

The Missing Jamal quest has some locked door Maglock puzzles to solve, plus some fierce zombies to kill, making it an exciting side mission. It’s also a relatively straightforward quest once players know where to look, and leads to other lock boxes and keycard collectibles around the grounds of the Halperin Hotel.
How To Start Missing Jamal Lost And Found Quest
Players canbegin the Missing Jamal quest by locating the relevant quest collectible poster on the missing persons' board in the Halperin Hotelon Ocean Avenue, one ofDead Island 2’s best locations in Hell-A.
Activate the quest in the side quest menu andfast-travel to the Halperin Hotel. Players spawn in the janitor’s storeroom and should head to the hotel parking lot, placing a waypoint on the map quest marker to best navigate the hotel.
For the first part of the quest, players mustlocate and open the two security huts. The first hut is located on the left side of the lot and containsDead Island 2’s Halperin security safe. However, the door is locked by aMaglocksystem.
To open the door, players must shoot or smash the electricity box on the wall at the back of the hoot. Hit it with a melee weapon or shoot it to release part of the lock, as indicated by the green wiring.
For the second part of the lock with the blue wiring, players need to shoot the panel on the wall through the window as pictured or throw one ofDead Island 2’s curveball weaponslike Shuriken to break it. The hut door opens and players can step inside to retrieve the Employee Vehicle Register collectible.

It’s now time to head to the second hut located to the southwest of the parking lot, as shown on the map. Defeat any zombies in the area and shoot or swipe the electricity box on the outside wall of the hut.
Look through the hut’s window to shoot the second Maglock box on the inside. Head inside to find the Our Fellow Security Guard collectible on the floor, which indicates where Jamal went.

Jamal Drove Off In His Red Pickup Truck - Follow Him!
Follow the quest marker past the fenced area and round to the road ruins as marked on the map tolocate Jamal’s red truck.
Take Down The Zombies Around Jamal’s Truck
There are a lot of zombies in the area, including armored Riot Gear zombies,Dead Island 2’s Slobbers, like Firestorm Slobbers, and a zombie that appears to be Jamal, giving players a good level of challenge. It’s best to get close to defeating the Slobbers and avoid their devastating projectile attacks where possible.
What Did The Riot Gear Zombie Drop?
After defeating all the zombies, the next mission prompt appears, instructing players to check what the Jamal Riot Gear zombie dropped. Search the area to find and pick upJamal’s crate key.Dead Island 2’s poolside container keyis also dropped by the Sunbather zombie, so it’s worth grabbing that too.

Open Jamal’s blue crateon the back of the red trucktocomplete the Missing Jamal quest, when players learn Jamal did sadly turn into a zombie.On completing the quest, players receive 1,500 XP plus a weapon from Jamal’s stash.
