Summary
SinceAvengers: Endgame, the comic book multiverse has been a huge theme throughout both the MCU and DC films. FromSpider-Man: No Way Homeand theSpider-Versefranchise toThe Flash, the multiverse concept has even spread outside the comic book adaptation films and reached Hollywood mainstream with movies likeEverything Everywhere All At Once.
The next most anticipated film to incorporate the multiverse will be the third installment in theDeadpoolseries,Deadpool 3. With characters like Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine already being confirmed to be in the film, the possibilities are endless as to who else will join the Merc with a Mouth, both from within andoutside the pre-established MCU.

A big speculation of who will also make an appearance in the nextDeadpoolfilm is the young, and equally mouthy Kidpool. Although he has limited comic book appearances, he is a really fun character who is usually only present inDeadpoolcomics when Wade Wilson is dealing with the multiverse. So, if this speculation turns out to be true, then fans can expect a lot more Marvel characters to both come back and debut inDeadpool 3.

Kidpool May Be Appearing in Deadpool 3
Deadpool3is set to release in early 2024, and so far the only new character that has been confirmed to be in the film is Wolverine, and he’s sporting theclassic yellow suit from the comicsand animated series. However,Deadpoollead actor Ryan Reynolds may have accidentally spoiled another cameo being made in the upcoming anti-hero Marvel movie: Kidpool.
On Twitter, user Caleb Williams (@KnightGambit)tweeted a video of Reynolds on set of Netflix’sThe Adam Projectsitting with his co-star, 14-year-old Walker Scobell, as Scobell was reciting part of the script fromDeadpool 2. Scobell was matching the energy of Reynolds' Deadpool character, and he wasn’t holding back on any of the expletives of Wilson’s dirty banter. While this video in itself is harmless and could just be written off as Reynolds having fun with his young co-star, Williams' caption read, “So [Ryan Reynolds] totally got [Walker Scobell] to cameo as Kidpool in #Deadpool3 right?” to which Reynolds hit the like button for.
Obviously, this isn’t an outright confirmation, nor should people take Reynolds' social media habits totally serious as he is known to be a troll, especially whenregarding his role in theDeadpoolfilms. However, it is interesting that he went out of his way to favorite a tweet by an account that he is neither following nor has more than 5,000 followers.
Regardless, it isn’t totally outlandish for Kidpool to make a cameo in the upcoming movie. It has already been confirmed that the film will be Deadpool’s introduction into the multiverse, and will possibly launch his role into the MCU. Not only does it make sense that new characters will be incorporated intoDeadpool 3, but Kidpool in particular is normally only involved with Deadpool when the multiverse is opened up.
Who is Kidpool in Marvel Comics?
Kidpool isn’t some random kid who happened to go through the same dangerous procedures as Deadpool to give him similar abilities and have the same sailor’s mouth that speaks in meta-commentary filled with sarcasm. Kidpool is simply a younger version of Wade Wilson from an alternate universe.
The Deadpool from the comics is from Earth-616,same as the characters from the MCU. Kidpool, though, according to the comics, is from Earth-10330. Kidpool’s origin is slightly different from the Deadpool fans have come to know and love.
Wade Wilson became Deadpool as an adult, after being diagnosed with cancer and, in wanting to save his own life for the sake of staying together with his girlfriend Vanessa, underwent unprecedented procedures that left his body mutated with super strength and regenerative properties. Kidpool, on the other hand, was a mutant child who attended the Xavier Orphanage for Troubled Boys. His weapons of choice are laser swords resembling lightsabers, which he wields in reverse grip.
As is the case with Deadpool, Kidpool didn’t really get along with his fellow mutants at first. After a series of mishaps resulting in Kidpool planning to leave the mutant academy, he is confronted by an alternate Deadpool to join his team, Deadpool Corps, to save the multiverse.
Deadpool Corps is the majority of comics in which Kidpool makes his cameos. The multiversal team is compiled of Deadpool, Kidpool, and Wanda Wilson, aka Lady Deadpool. The villains they typically face include Awareness, Champion, and even Evil Deadpool who formed his own team called the Evil Deadpool Corps.
In one comic, the Deadpool Corps even fight off a version of the Avengers who were killed and resurrected as a superhero band of zombies. While that may not make it into the upcomingDeadpoolfilm,it is for sure possible. All that needs to happen is Deadpool and company travel to a universe where Thanos defeated the Avengers, and they somehow come back as zombies. Above all,Deadpool 3will most likely be a multiverse movie, and with that, the potential of Kidpool playing a role is just that much greater.
