In this atmospheric and wonderfully quirky indie game,Death’s Doorhas players assume control of a tiny crow who works as a reaper at the Reaping Commission Headquarters. When their latest reaping assignment goes awry, players must track down the lost soul and battle against monsters along the way.

Perfect for fans ofZelda, Acid Nerve expertly takes advantage of the isometric camera view to slyly hide secrets from the player. These include Shrines where players canupgrade their healthandmagic capacity, as well as Soul Orbs, which contribute greatly to the player’s in-game currency that can be spent on upgrades for the crow’s combat and movement. However, these aren’t the only things hidden in the world ofDeath’s Door.

Death’s Door little crow up in the rafters to collect the Old Engagement Ring

Players can live out their corvid dreams by collecting Shiny Things, and while they are considered collectibles, some of them tie into quests or secret encounters. Here is where players can find all 24 Shiny Things inDeath’s Door.

Location:Urn Witch’s Ceramic Manor

Spell requirement:None

When exiting the door that opens into the Urn Witch’s Ceramic Manor, players should see a small gap in the wall to the immediate right of the door (leading to the left side of the manor). Stepping into this space will lead the little crow upa small elevator and into the ballroom.

Death’s Door finding the Old Compass in the Lost Cemetery

There is a mini-boss fight in the ballroom that will prevent players from reaching the Old Engagement Ring if they have not already beaten this enemy. Once the encounter is over, a ladder will drop at the back of the ‘arena’ that players can climb up to reach the rafters above the ballroom. They should be sure to tread carefully across the rafters as it is easy to fall off and there will also be enemies that spawn up there too.

Players will need to proceed across the rafters to reach the other side, where they’ll be able to find the Old Engagement Ring nestled in a small set of shelves.

Death’s Door Incense above the Mausoleum

Location:The Lost Cemetery

Below the doorway to the Hall of Doors (from the Lost Cemetery), players will see a small building with an enemy patrolling on the roof. There is an entrance to the building that players can simply walk into, but they will find their progress is blocked by cobwebs.

Using the Flame spell, the reaper will be able to clear the cobwebs and reveal the path to another chamber where the Old Compass can be found.

This Shiny Thing can be foundabove the Mausoleumwhere players will meet Steadhone, the Gravedigger, and is directly south of the Grey Crow’s location. There is a convenient coffin lid for the player to walk up to reach the ledge, where the Incense is sitting, ready for the taking.

Death’s Door using the Flame spell to find the Old Photograph

This is one of the first instances of the camera being used to obscure paths from the player.

To the south of the Hall of Doors (from the Lost Cemetery) where a number of enemies are patrolling, there is a small building with a green roof. As the player approaches this structure, the camera angle will change and reveal an entrance.

Death’s Door using a plunging attack to get the Sludge Filled Urn

The Undying Blossom is found on the ground as the player walks into the newly exposed room.

From the doorway, players should take the door to the east (the right side of the manor) and look for a single chair in front of a lit fireplace. If the player has not already explored this section, they will need to destroy a pot and defeat the enemy that appears, which will open the gate on the opposite side of the room.

Death’s Door using the hookshot to reach the Token of Death

Exiting through this door will take players out into a hallway, wherethe Flame spell will need to be used to light a lantern. A ladder will then appear at the back of the hallway, which leads the little crow to the rafters above the hallway. The Old Photograph can be found on the other side of these rafters.

Location:The Urn Witch’s gardens

Spell requirement:Hookshot

To find the Sludge-Filled Urn, players should head to the fountain in the middle of the Urn Witch’s gardens (north-east of the door) and make their way west. Players will then need tofind a small gap in the hedgealong the perimeter of the next area and shuffle their way through the bushes and climb the ladder up a pillar.

Death’s Door the Garden of Love puzzle

There is an anchor across the way that can be latched onto by using the Hookshot ability. Once across, the player should see a conveniently placedgray drain cover on the ground, but it is not immediately obvious what needs to be done here. The tiny crow canperform a plunging attackwhile falling, which players should execute over the drain so that they land in an underground tunnel.

From here, they’ll simply need to follow the tunnels until another drain cover is reached and then exit. There will be an encounter with several waves of enemies here that are blocking the way to the Sludge-Filled Urn and must be defeated before players can continue onwards.

Location:South of the entrance to the Urn Witch’s Ceramic Manor

Players will find a formation of pots arranged on a chessboard, which must be broken in a specific order to reveal the path to the Rusty Garden Trowel. Luckily for players that have been diligent in their search for shiny things, when inspecting the Old Photograph, players canrotate it to find the puzzle solution on the back(or use this handy guide with the image above).
