Summary

Titans have always been pretty hit-or-miss inDestiny 2.The subclasses are either incredibly powerful or remarkably weak afterfacing heavy nerfs. Thankfully, Titans still have a few tricks up their sleeves and can maul foes with the right build. While Titans may fall short in a few areas, they definitely shouldn’t be counted out and can be a real force on the battlefield inDestiny 2.

It can be easy for a new player to become overwhelmed by the number of options Titans have, especially when keeping track of certain buffs. Yet, in ranking the five subclasses, players might be able to see some unique strengths and weaknesses that help them pick their favorite Titan subclass.

5Behemoth

A Weak Option That Provides Very Little Value

Following the sad trend of the other Stasis subclasses, Behemoth is a subclass most Titans will opt to ignore. While there arecertain exotics that Stasis Titans can utilize in battle, they aren’t potent enough to warrant picking this subclass over something else. The subclass lacks good survivability options, and its abilities are too low-damage to warrant practical use. Behemoth also doesn’t have any good Aspects, with the best beingDiamond Lance(which is incredibly weak in its own right).

Players may also feel that the subclass feels ‘clunky’. The melee is not good to use, and the Super doesn’t feel satisfying. While there is some niche use in spamming Stasis Crystals with the heavy attack, players will be better off using any other damage strategy as they are much simpler and, usually, much better.

4Striker

A Former Heavyweight Now Outclassed

Arc Titan was formerly the strongest Titan subclass, especially withbuilds usingHeart of Inmost Light. While those builds are definitely still possible, they aren’t the top dog anymore, as other subclasses have overtaken it in strength. The main issue with Arc is the subclass’s lack of survivability, especially in endgame content. Blinding enemies with a subclass trait is not consistent compared to other methods.

Striker does have some things going for it, though.Cuirass of the Falling Staris a solid exotic and can be used well during a damage phase, and the subclass is generally quite fun asArc 3.0 has some enjoyable quirks, like Amplified, ensuring players are always quick and electrified.

3Sentinel

The Main Supportive Titan Class Is Pretty Average

Void 3.0 has been out for quite some time now, and Void Titans have been consistently ‘decent’ since release. With options likeBastionandControlled Demolition, Titans can lean into a supportive playstylewith the right build. Healing fromControlled Demolitionand constant overshields withBastionmake Sentinel a very defensive subclass, and no one will be sad to see one on their fireteam in challenging content.

Where Sentinel is let down is in its damage potential and Supers. WhileWard of Dawnis just alright, and is functionally useless as it provides the same damage buff asWell of Radiance, which is a much better Super.Sentinel Shieldis also one of the weaker roaming Supers in the game, meaning its damage potential and boss fighting is relatively poor compared to the competition. However, Sentinel can be used with great success inside puzzle encounters in Raids or high-level Nightfalls.

2Sunbreaker

One Of The Most Durable Subclasses In The Entire Game

Ever since Solar 3.0’s release, it has been a rather problematic element thanks to its various buffs that can be providedto a character. Titans are no exception from this and are perhaps able to take advantage of it the most. With theThrowing Hammermelee option andSol Invictus, Titans can constantly create Sunspots, meaning they will have Restoration active, granting them a continuous source of healing.

To stack damage even further, Titans can runRoaring FlamesandSynthocepsto make their miniThrowing Hammerdeal remarkable damage, allowing them to take out major enemies in just a few throws. Sunbreakers can also use thePyrogale Gauntletsto enhanceBurning Maul, making it a top-tier damage option.

Destiny 2 Strand Titan-1

1Berserker

Tangle Up The Competition & Delete The Hordes

Ever since the release of Lightfall, Titans have enjoyed Strand’s powerful delights, be it through using a powerfulBanner of Warbuildto mow down foes with melees or Suspending foes for days with Abyeant Leap. Both of these builds bring something unique to the table, and players can adapt their playstyle to the demands of the encounter. If a fight calls for high damage or add-clear, players can always count on a Berserker.

Berserkers can be enhanced even further with a few additional weapons, like usingThe Navigatorand its catalyst to create a StrandGrapplepoint from which to swing and deal outrageous damage from. Overall, Berserkers are incredibly powerful right now, and Titans should look to have fun with this subclass while it’s still hot.
