Morale is not exactly at an all time high amongst theDestiny 2community at the moment, either in the game or in real life, for reasons that are fairly obvious. Nevertheless, Bungie continues to put out new content for the game in an effort to keep the community alive, playing, and happy, one of the most recent examplesbeing the Guardian Games, a competition between the three Guardian classes.

What a lot of people forget about the world ofDestiny 2is that, despite the game being combat-centric and focusing on the exploits of the Guardians and their allies, the world ofDestinyis just that: a world. Not everything in it relates back to fighting, and many of the little touches that flesh out the universe that the players are fighting to save have become beloved cannon.

Now seems to be the time when many players are craving some of that non-combat (or at least non-dire) goodness fromDestiny 2, as intense game modes like Grandmaster are not as rewardingas players would have hoped. To combat the grind and provide an alternative look at the world ofDestiny 2,Bungie has teamed up with Insight Editions and author Victoria Rosenthal to bring something special to players. The result is theDestiny Official Cookbook, a collection of real-world equivalent recipes to the various goodies and meals found within theDestinyuniverse, fully cookable within the average Terran kitchen.

The premise of the book is that these recipes have been diligently collected from Guardians all across theDestinyuniverse and brought together into an all-purpose cookbook, and there are a lot of these recipes. The book itself is over 208 pages long, with a picture included with each recipe, which ranges from simple Coleslaw to distinctlyDestinytreats like the famous Gjallerdoodle cookies, as well as several mixed drinks. It’s the kind of thing that ensures even whenDestiny 2players leave the game, they will still carry the universe they first came to love with them in the form of its food.

Destiny 2is not the first game, or even the first game series, to release a cookbook, and it is always a fascinating and fun experience to look into the culinary aspect of a fictional world that usually means just one thing to players: battle. Now may be exactly the time for a more home-centric vision of universes likeDestinyandElder Scrolls(which also has a cookbook), as players look for new ways to stay healthy andtake brakes from their favorite games.

The Destiny Official Cookbook can be purchased now from Amazon for $39.99, and as mentioned before, has a LOT of recipes to choose from. These are someexotic dishes that players can be sure will not be nerfed, no matter how delicious they turn out to be.

Destiny 2is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
