This seasonal quest, titled “Saladin’s Gauntlet,” will task players with completing numerous tasks in Iron Banner matches. Some involve simply playing matches and capturing zones, but other steps require players to get kills with certain elemental damage types and weapon types.

Firstly, players should pay a visit to Lord Saladin in the Tower, who can be found aboveBanshee-44’s gunsmith workshopand pick up the seasonal quest and all four bounties to maximize loot drops. This quest is available for the entirety of Season of the Chosen, so it does not need to be completed in one event.Destiny 2’s next Iron Banner event will start on March 23.

Once players have the quest, they should begin playing Iron Banner matches by navigating to the Crucible node on the Director’s destinations screen and choosing Iron Banner - or Freelance: Iron Banner for any solo players.

The first step of Saladin’s Gauntlet is simple:

The first two objectives can be completed very easily in about three games, provided players are focusing on playing the objective and capturing zones whenever possible. It is important to note that assists and final blows count towards defeating Guardians.

For Solar and Arc final blows, players need to ensure they are using one of the relevant subclasses. Super abilities and grenades are by far the easiest methods of getting ability kills. Supers such as Golden Gun, Blade Barrage, Thundercrash, Hammer of Sol, and Stormtrance are all good roaming supers for getting several kills in one use.Chaos Reach also appears to be having a resurgenceinDestiny 2’s Crucible now too.

For step two of the Iron Banner quest players need to:

Some of the objectives in the quest are progressed even when they are not active so players may find they already have progress towards capturing zones and completing matches. Regarding power weapon kills, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, machine guns, and even swords, especially thenew Sola’s Scar from Trials of Osiris, can all be good weapons to use. Players just need to make sure they are keeping an eye on the heavy ammo boxes throughout matches so that they know exactly when ammo will be available to grab.

Step three of Saladin’s Gauntlet:

Regarding the SMG final blows, players could consider using a double SMG loadout to speed up getting the kills. For example, players could consider pairing the reissued Multimach CCX ornew Extraordinary Renditionwith either the IKELOS or Seventh Seraph SMGs.

For step four of the Iron Banner quest:

The super ability final blows can come from any super so the choice is up to the player. The new Stasis supers released withDestiny 2’s latest expansion Beyond Light have proven to bedivisive in PvP due to their undeniable power.

Finally, the fifth step of the quest is to simply return to Lord Saladin. Now that players have probably played a fair amount of Iron Banner matches, players should definitely spend some of their tokens to try and get god rolls on the new pulse rifle and SMG, which can roll with a new Iron Banner perk called Iron Reach.
