Each map inDevourhas unique enemies, items, and criteria for completing it. The Town is a larger map, which in itself can pose a challenge for players, and that’s before the flying demons and gun-toting, demon-possessed Sam get involved. By staying organized and keeping calm, however, the player can survive even the Town. Here’s how.
New In Town
Players spawn at the Town’s entrance. Because Sam and the ghosts (the map’s boss) haven’t spawned yet, the players are free to explore and gather collectibles. When the team is ready to start, they should make their way to the Saloon. The sound of a piano playingsignals when the players are drawing near.Walk inside the saloon and approach the piano across the room, which will stop the music. Proceed up the stairs to the left and into the bedroom, collecting the church key from a window.

Players must exit the saloonand walk to the right until they arrive at a path marked with cross gravestones. The church lies just up that path. Use the church key to enter the church. Once inside, step inside the pentagram in the center, thereby summoning Sam and ghosts. Sam will not attack the player yet, but players should be wary of the ghosts that will be. It’s importantnot to stare at Sam,as doing so will provoke an attack.
Keys And Lockboxes
It’s now time to return to the Town. Note which buildings have lanterns lit, as a lit lantern marks a building with an active pentagram, vital for completing the level. The lanterns will remain lituntil the players have cleared the final building.Upon returning to Town players can begin the search for keys orbegin finding and placing other resources to make things easier later.

Each key corresponds to a lockbox located in a different building from where the key was found. Fortunately, unlike in some games, inventory space isn’t limited when it comes to keys, so the player can carry as many as necessary. As each book is retrieved from its lockbox, note the symbol on it, as that will determine which building it corresponds with.Continue the process of finding keys, opening lockboxes, and retrieving books until the player possesses a book that matches a building with a lit up lantern.
Burn The Books
Bring the book to its corresponding building, identifiable by its lit lantern, and find a glowing pentagram inside. Use matches (found throughout the buildings) to light the three candles surrounding the pentagram, thenplace the book in the pentagram’s center. The book will glow to signal that the ritual has begun.
Bring the book to the church and use a gasoline tank (found scattered throughout the map) to light the stake. Burn the book at the stake. When the book finishes burning, the game will reward the player will progress towards the objective, andSam will grow more aggressive. The more books that players have burned, the more ghosts there will be and the more aggressive Sam will become.

The player must be wary of both of these foes. Ghosts can walk through walls to attack the player, and if it succeeds in killing the player a ghost can pick up their book. The players will then need to find the ghost that stole the book and destroy that ghost become progress can continue. By completing the ritual process ten times the player will be victorious.
