Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas just unveiled the name of its third major content update in an exciting new post, calling the update “Festival of Friendship.” This information from the developer comes with an interesting GIF and another one of thecryptic messagesDreamlight Valleyis becoming known for, hinting at a new character coming to the valley. Fans are already guessing who this new character might be and what door the strange key in the GIF might be used to unlock. This tweet in particular doesn’t give any specifics about when the update will be made available, but the name alone reveals a lot.
For those that haven’t been keeping up with the game,Disney Dreamlight Valleyis currently in early access. Regarding what the “key” in the image is, it seems most likely that it is a door knob. Not just any door knob, though, as it is probably connected to Mirabel, the protagonist from Disney’sEncanto. There are a few facts that back this up, not the least of which is the fact thatMirabel is already confirmed forDisney Dreamlight Valley. What’s more, the door knob in the promo GIF has an “M” engraved on it, and the text of the tweet emphasizes opening a new door, which could relate to Mirabel’s door within Casita.
Many assumed that this meant Mirabel would be getting her own realm, but in the comments,Disney Dreamlight Valleyclarifies that “this key will unlock a different kind of door.” It’s unclear what exactly that means, but it seems like Mirabel will be joining the valley in some way other than a new realm. Theearly 2023 roadmap forDisney Dreamlight Valleygives some hints on what else fans can expect to come in February’s update. Aside from Mirabel, players will get to meet “a special snowman” (probably Olaf fromFrozen) and also enjoy a star path celebrating Disney’s 100-year anniversary.
It’s definitely worth digging through the comments of the tweet above to seeDreamlight Valley’s official response to some fan questions. The social media account reassures fans that developers are still working on fixing some ofDreamlight Valley’s game-breaking bugs, promises to pass on feedback and suggestions, and builds hope for players that their favorite Disney characters might one day join the valley.
