Summary
The Pawn system inDragon’s Dogma 2is incredibly unique. While this is a single-player game, there is a ‘type’ of online element to this game in whichplayers can summon the Pawns that other players have createdand personally trained.
And, the ‘masters’ of these Pawns can also set Quests for the summoner to complete while the Pawn in question is in their party, and this summoner can then send the Pawn back to their original world with a gift as well. This is all to say that players will only benefit from having their Pawn summoned often. So, let’s go over some of the things that, so far, seem to cause Pawns to be summoned by other players more often inDragon’s Dogma 2.

8Make Them ‘Hot’
Being Attractive Even Works For Fictional Characters
For the first method, this is also the silliest, and it involves making as attractive of a Main Pawn as possible. Despite the Pawns inDD2being little more than lines of code and pixels actualized on the screen, people still judge these Pawns by their own standards of beauty.
The more stereotypically attractive the Pawn is, the more they seem to be summoned overall (though eventually, people will probably intentionally ignore these types of Pawns). And, there even seems to be a ‘meta’ regarding their armor right now with the majority of Mage and Sorcerer Pawns wearing the Stargazer’s Garb set just because it shows more skin. Again, it’s pretty ridiculous, but if players want their Pawns to be summoned often, this is a surefire way to quickly achieve that.

7Creating A Total Monstrosity
Make It Hard To ‘Not’ Notice Them
On the other end of the spectrum, players are also more likely to hire a Pawn that’s designed to be as ‘over-the-top’ as possible in terms of appearance. As anyone who has played any of theDark Soulsgames can verify, if players really want to they can make a real monstrosity in the FromSoftware character creators.
This is also true forDragon’s Dogma 2’scharacter creator, and the more of an absolutely hideous creature a Pawn is, the more it sticks out amongst the other Pawns that all look similar. While the reliability of this method isn’t quite as high as designing a stereotypically attractive Pawn, it does absolutely increase that Pawn’s summoning chances by quite a bit, even if that means a person only summons their Pawnjust to throw them into the ocean or a nearby lake.

6Build & Train The Pawn Around A Specific Role
Whether That’s Tank, Support, or Fighter
Another great tip for making sure that Main Pawn gets picked for a summon as often as possible is keeping them consistently built around a specific role. Whether this role is the pure support Mage, raw offense Sorcerer, ranged damage Archer, or tank Warrior/Fighter it doesn’t matter. Just make sure their Core Skills, Augments, Inclination, and Specialization all take this role into consideration.
For example, running High Palladium on a support Mage or Roar on a tank Warrior is something that’ll immediately stick out to anyone looking closely at the Pawns they summon and make it much more likely for that Pawn to get summoned at all.

5Try & Avoid A DPS Build, If Possible
Glass Cannon Pawns Are Good But Aren’t Summoned As Often
And along that same train of thought about building around a specific role, it’s probably better to build a pure caster or pure tank Main Pawn than it is to build the Main Pawn for raw damage. Typically the Arisen the player is controlling is the main source of damage and the Pawns are just bonuses, so a lot of players just ignore Pawns that aredesigned around dealing damage only such as Thieves.
So if the end goal is to have the Pawn summoned often, going for a support Mage or Tank Fighter/Warrior is usually the best bet as everyone needs a Pawn that takes some of the aggro off them or a Pawn that’s able to heal them without wasting consumables.

4Make The Pawn Look Like A Specific Character
Recreate Shadowheart, Sonic the Hedgehog, or Even The Joker
People like the idea of using some random pop culture character or historical figure as their Pawn in a video game, it’s just a funny concept all around. So if, for example, a person designs their main Pawn to look as close to the Joker as possible, it’ll probably get picked a lot more often than if it was just a normal-looking Pawn.
With how in-depthDD2’scharacter creator is, it’s actually relatively easyto make a Pawn look like just about anyone, as people have probably seen from images floating around on social media related to the character creator.

3Make Sure To Actually Put Some Time Into The Pawn
People Can Always Tell Where The Effort Is Being Placed
This next tip is a bit more conceptual than it is practical, but it boils down to making sure the Pawn you’re creating clearly feels like you put time into designing and building it.
Most people can sort of intuitively tell if a Pawn had a lot of time (or thought, at the very least) put into its design or skills, and even if the Pawn isn’t the best statistically or is a bit boring looking, it’s more likely to be picked if the person attempting to summon a new Pawn can tell thattime went into a Pawn’s design or build.

2Give The Pawn A Memorable Outfit
There Are a Ton of Fashion Options in This Game
While the fashion possibilities inDragon’s Dogma 2are unfortunately a lot more restrictive than inDD1, there are still a lot of armor sets and purely cosmetic pieces of gear that players can use to make their Arisen or Main Pawn look incredibly unique.
While everyone is relying on the fanservice of the Charming Corset or the Stargazer’s Garb to get their Pawn summoned, the player who geniuenly puts their Pawn in a visually appealing armor set will actually stick out more. And, the more a Pawn sticks out (in a positive way) among the sea of similar-looking Pawns, the more likely they are to be summoned.

1Make Sure Their Specialization & Inclination Work Well Together
Utilizing Proper Synergies Like This Not Only Helps Others But Also Your Arisen As Well
Lastly, make sure that the Pawn in question that’s trying to get summoned has the optimal combination of Inclination and Specialization for its role. For example, the Simple + Churgeon combination is a great general synergy, and the players who areactively looking at a Pawn’s Specializations and Inclinationsbefore they summon them will be aware of that.
Thankfully, there are items players can buy from the Riftstone area NPC in major citiesthat can forcefully change the Main Pawn’s Specialization or Inclination, so adjusting these really isn’t too difficult, players just need to save their Rift Crystals a bit.
