The casting news was revealed as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week, a weeklong virtual event meant to excite fans about the streaming service’s content with exclusives, behind-the-scenes footage, trailers, and more. According to the officialStranger ThingsTwitter account, Vickie is also described as a “cool, fast-talking band nerd who catches the eye of one of our beloved heroes.” According to IMDb, McNulty will appear in nine episodes ofStranger Things 4, so Vickie will certainly be heavily present.
McNulty isn’t the only one joining the ranks of Mike, Eleven, and company, because three other new faces will be added tothe cast ofStranger Thingsas well. Myles Truitt will be playing Patrick, a Hawkins basketball jock whose life goes “spiraling out of control,” and Regina Ting Chen will play Ms. Kelly, a guidance counselor who cares deeply for her students. Rounding out the new cast is Grace Van Dien as Chrissy, the most popular Hawkins High cheerleader who is harboring a dark secret.
After the heartbreakingStranger Things 3finale, fans were left in the dark about the fate of some of the series' favorite characters. At this point little is known about the new season. The teaser trailer for the upcoming season already dropped, but other than appearing to be a flashback from Eleven’s days in the Hawkins lab, it didn’t reveal much. Adding to the already high hopes and hype for the new season, series star Gaten Matarazzo has said thatStranger Things 4will be the scariestchapter yet.
There is still no official release date forStranger Things 4since filming is still ongoing and the pandemic has caused production to last longer than planned. Finn Wolfhard has hinted that he believesStranger Things 4will arrive next year, though that hasn’t been confirmed by Netflix.
