Dying Light 2players have found many Easter eggs in the game referencing many different video games likeCyberpunk 2077. Now it seems as though Techland included a reference toDying LightinDying Light 2.

Techland is no stranger to Easter eggs and references, and players have already found a number of them inDying Light 2while many more are still likely undiscovered. Considering that the originalDying Lightalso included many well-known Easter eggs, the fact that Techland have again stocked the sequel with hidden things to find shouldn’t be too surprising. The most renowned of which was theSuper Mario Bros.World 1-1 that allowed players to experience the famous level in first person, even featuring zombies as Goombas.

The originalDying Lighthad a particularly haunting theme song that played at the title screen. Techland was aware of this and decided to make reference to the iconic theme song inDying Light 2. In the game’s tutorial, Aiden can find Spike playing the piano, and if he hangs around for long enough Spike will begin playingDying Light’s theme song.

This is not the only reference that Techland has made to its past work, as players have found two references toDead Islandin the game as well. The firstDying Light 2Dead IslandEaster eggcan also be found in the game’s tutorial. The Easter egg is a record player called “Who Do You Voodoo?”, which is a direct reference to a song rapped in the prologue ofDead Island.

The otherDeadIslandreference can also be found in the prologue, although it is slightly less obvious. If players look out towards the horizon, there is a tree in the middle of a river that looks nearly exactly like theDead Islandlogo.

Techland also cheekily decided toreference bothSuper Mario 64andDying Lightin the sameDying Light 2Easter egg. If players advance quite far in the game, they will be able to lockpick a container located in Lower Dam Ayre. Inside the container, players will find a memorial to Kyle Crane, the first game’s protagonist, and an audio recording. If players listen to it for long enough, a gift will spawn in the form of the “It’s Me…Marian!” common sneakers which enable players to triple jump like inSuper Mario 64.

One of the most interesting Easter eggs players have found in the game is a reference toDOOM. TheDying Light 2 DOOMEaster eggis probably the most intricate Easter egg that players have found thus far, and will most likely require some research to pull off.
