Final Fantasy 7 Remakeis a retelling of the originalFinal Fantasy 7’s stories, sticking to the major story beats while also introducing some significant changes as well. It vastly expands the Mdigar section of the original game, with the entirety ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remaketaking place within the city. However,Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2will see the party leave Midgar for new areas, and thanks to the original game, we have a solid idea of what those areas will be.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2’s lengthis unclear at this point, as it has yet to be properly revealed by Square Enix. However, it’s still possible to make a pretty good guess about what areas will be included inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2based on the events of the original.

Kalm, Chocobo Farm, and Mythril Mine
The end ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeand theIntermissionDLC shows the party traveling to the village of Kalm, which is a small village located just outside Midgar. Since Kalm is not nearly as big as Midgar,Final Fantasy 7fans shouldn’t expect it to be significantly expanded in the same way that Midgar was. However, Kalm will still likely be a very important stop for theFinal Fantasy 7characters, as it is there when Cloud recounts his past with thevillainous Sephiroth.
After exploring Kalm,Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2will likely let players check out the nearby Chocobo Farm, as well as the Mythril Mine. The Mythril Mine is notable because it’s the first area whereplayers meet the Turk Elena, who was nowhere to be seen in the firstFinal Fantasy 7 Remake.

Junon and the Cargo Ship
The next stop for theFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2party will be Junon, where players will likely be able to participate in a revamped version of the parade mini-game from the originalFF7.Final Fantasy 7 Remakehad plenty of mini-games, and so they are likely a good reference of what to expect when it comes to the Junon parade. Again, it seems unlikely that Junon will get fleshed out nearly as much as Midgar did in the firstFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, and so it’s possible the party might not spend a ton of time here before sneaking onto the Cargo Shipping and heading to Costa del Sol.
Costa del Sol, Mount Corel, Gold Saucer, and Corel Prison
It’s quite possible that the tropical city of Costa del Sol and the surrounding areas could be what gets the Midgar treatment inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2. Costa del Sol will serve as the jumping-off point that will see the party visit Mount Corel and eventually get thrown in Corel Prison, but it will also be the section of the game that will feature theGold Saucer.
The Gold Saucer theme park is going to be hugely important inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2(assuming the story gets this far), as it will be whereCait Sith joins the party. Cait Sith will be the first new party member inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, which should make the Gold Saucer visit especially exciting. UnlessFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2features from the story in a significant way, the Gold Saucer will likely be visited at least a couple of times in the game.

Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon, and Nibelheim
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2will next take players through Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon, and Nibelheim. Now, it’s entirely possible thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2won’t get this far, especially considering how little ground was covered in the first game, but it seems likeRemake Part 2will have more forward momentum. While there were good reasons to spend a lot of extra time in Midgar, the same can’t necessarily be said for these smaller areas.
In any case, ifFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2manages to get to Nibelheim, it’s likely that players will be able to explore Shinra Manor. And if that’s the case, they will more likely than not meet Vincent Valentine and add him to their growing party of playable characters. IfFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2sticks to the original when it comes toVincent Valentine’s introduction, Cloud and company will likely find him in the Shinra Manor’s basement.

However, one key difference will likely be that Vincent will no longer be an optional party member. The more likely scenario is that Vincent will be a required party member this time around, and the same likely goes forYuffieas well.
Rocket Town
Speaking of party members, it’s possible thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2will also make it to Rocket Town, the city where players meet and recruit Cid Highwind.Cid Highwind’s personality will likely be toned downfor his appearance in theFinal Fantasy 7 Remakegames, as he was a foul-mouthed chain-smoker in the original, but that remains to be seen. And since nothing all that climactic happens in Rocket Town besides meeting Cid, many fans believe that the natural stopping point forFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2is the next area that the party reaches in the game.
Temple of the Ancients
TheTemple of the Ancientsis a massively important area in the originalFinal Fantasy 7, as it is the area where Sephiroth gets his hands on the Black Materia. It’s also when Aerith splits up from the party, which seems like a logical stopping point forFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, ending things on a cliffhanger to be resolved in the likelyFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3.
