Given her popularity and the community’s seemingly genuine like of her character, a fan recently showcased her admiration for Tifa by sharing her cosplay on the forum platform Reddit.
There seems to be no shortage to the amount of love shown for Tifa Lockhart in theFinal Fantasy 7community, whether online or offline. The character has been the basis of many other fan-created content, with others modding her in popular fighting games such asTekken, re-creating iconiclove scenes fromFire Emblem: Three Houses, and even pro-wrestlers wearing her outfit in official matches. Square Enix itself seems to have recognized her fame by continuously including her in other titles such asKingdom Hearts 2,Dissidia Final Fantasy, andFinal Fantasy Opera Omnia, among others.

On theFinal FantasysubReddit, user lettuceown shared a single photo of her Tifa Lockhart cosplay, wearing the new outfit fromFinal Fantasy 7 Remake. Most fans will likely recall that Tifa received an upgraded look that may be similar, yet still completelydifferent from her original attire inFF7. Though lettuceown was not able to share a full-body photo, the hair, suspenders, sports top, and skirt were complimented by the forum users as very accurate.
Some of the replies lamented that lettuceown’s cosplay lacked some minute details such as Tifa’s standard red bracers inFF7 Remake, and even the metal plates that adorned her gloves. Others were supportive and suggested that the cosplayer also create and modelTifa’s other weapons inFinal Fantasy 7 Remakesuch as the Mythril Claws and Purple Pain. Given the sheer amount of negative replies, the subReddit thread has been locked by the moderators, and now users will only be able to view the cosplay without being able to express their admiration of it.
Lettuceown’s cosplay will not likely be the only one that will pop up in the Reddit forums in the near future. WithFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradehitting the PS5 within days, cosplayers will likely celebrate the launch by making new costumes or taking their previously made ones out of the closet. Hopefully the online community will treat cosplayers with respect and kindness as they all share their common love for Tifa Lockhart andFinal Fantasy 7.
