Ramuh Assess

Upon defeating the summon, Yuffie earns the ability to use Ramuh in battle. It is a tough fight, but absolutely worth doing. Having Ramuh by Yuffie’s side will make several future battles significantly easier. Anyone having trouble beating Ramuh simply needs to read on below for the best way to prepare and fight him. With a few adjustments to one’s play style and equipment, what once seemed impossible can be obtainable.

Before The Fight

Ramuh becomes available to fight after talking to Chadley for the first time, shortly after Yuffie’s rendezvous with Avalanche. However, wait until after Sonon joins the party to actually take on the challenger.

Fighting Ramuh only with Yuffie makes the fight exponentially harder. Yuffie should have a decent amount of Gil on her after doing some side quests and fights, so be sure to buy some solid defense equipment. In terms of magic, only Aero does any damage of note. To put the magic defense as high as possible, both Yuffie and Sonon should have the Talisman accessory equipped.

Ramuh’s Attacks

Ramuh’s attacks are powerful, but the majority of them can be dodged with some situational awareness and clever maneuvering.

He has a few other moves when the sparks appear, but they are all avoidable by simply keeping Yuffie far away from Ramuh.

Fighting Ramuh

During the fight, use the above strategies for dodging Ramuh’s attacks and generally stay far away from him. Use Wind Ninjutsu and the Throw command to do steady damage from a distance. Also, pay attention to Sonon’s health and keep him alive throughout the encounter. because he helps greatly in damaging Ramuh over time.

Near the end of the battle after surviving a Judgment Bolt attack, both Yuffie and Sonon should have full limit gauges. Using both Limit Breaks in order should finish Ramuh quickly if he is below half health.
