Sony Pictureshas released the first official trailer for the upcoming action comedyBullet Train. The two-and-a-half minute trailer is packed with action sequences and puts lead star Brad Pitt on board one of the fastest trains in the world as he goes on a secret mission. The issue, however, is that he will have to go up against several trained assassins in order to complete the mission.
The newBullet Traintrailer released bySonyintroduces viewers to Pitt’s character named Ladybug, who happens to be a professional criminal that seems to have changed his ways and outlook on life. But, when taking up his next job, which is supposed to be simple, he doesn’t realize what trouble he is getting himself into. The upcoming film is inspired by Kōtarō Isaka’s best-selling Japanese novelMaria Beetle, which is set on a bullet train going from Tokyo to Morioka.

TheBullet Traintrailer begins with Pitt’s Ladybug getting into a comical fight with Brian Tyree Henry’s Lemon and establishes the plot. They are both professionals who are willing to kill each other over their respective missions. The next shot establishes what that is, as Ladybug is seen walking through the streets of Tokyo and talking on the phone with what sounds likeSandra Bullock’s Maria Beetle. While Ladybug is sounding optimistic about peace, Beetle reminds him what he does for a living and sets him off with a gun.
Once on the train, he comes face-to-face with several professional killers who are all trying to obtain the same briefcase that Pitt’s eccentric assassin is trying to get his hands on. Set to the iconic Bee Gees song “Stayin' Alive,” theBullet Traintrailer focuses a lot on Pitt’s attempts at staying alive as various passengers try to kill him. This leads to several great action shots, within a very small space, which promises not just an action-packed film, but also one that looks quite stylistic.
Bullet Trainalso stars Joey King, Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Andrew Koji, Zazie Beetz, Logan Lerman, Masi Oka, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, and Hiroyuki Sanada. The film isdirected by David Leitch, who is responsible for bringing films likeJohn WickandDeadpool 2to life. The fun fact is that Leitch and Pitt have worked together before, as the director used to be the actor’s stunt double. He has worked on films likeTroy,Fight Club, andMr. & Mrs. Smith.
