It will be exciting to see how The Foundation DLC forControlturns out, but it’s safe to say that the planned second expansion may be even more exciting for hardcore Remedy Entertainment fans. That’s becauseControlexpansion 2, currently known as AWE, appears to havedirection connections toAlan Wake, one of Remedy’s most popular games to date. In fact, promotional art of the DLC seems to suggest it may even take place inAlan Wake’s setting of Bright Falls, Washington, at least in some capacity.
TheseControlexpansion will be the most expansive updates for the game, but those that haven’t played since launch should note that there’s some other new content that’s been added since then.Control’s photo mode was added last year, as was thenew Expeditions game mode. Neither were added with the same fanfare as The Foundation DLC or the upcoming AWE expansion, but still give fans of the game something to do while they wait for the new story content.
As for the future ofControl, fans can expect the game to only get better with time. Besides the the post-launch content that’s been released for the game,Controlis also set to have next-generation improvements, like faster load times and improved visuals. It’s unclear if this will be through the PS5’s backward compatibility with PS4, or if aControlPS5 portis in the works, but more information on that front will come at some point down the line.
Controlhas been a big hit forRemedy Entertainmentso far, and so it will be interesting to see how the community reacts to these expansions. For those still needing to mark their calendars, theControlFoundation DLC will launch on March 26.
