Oathbound Chests
While exploring the newFortniteBattle Royale map, players might find strange large white treasure chests. These areOathbound Chests. What separates these chests from the regular chests in the game is the better loot inside and the items it guarantees.
The contents of a regular chest inFortniteare all up to chance, but they’re completely random. It’s more likely that an Uncommon rarity item will appear rather than a Legendary item. In an Oathbound Chest, on the other hand, a random weapon will appear, but it is guaranteed that players will get twice the amount of materials, Chug Splashes, extra gold, a throwable item, anda Shockwave Hammer.
Oathbound Chest Locations
Oathbound Chests will only spawn in areas of the map that are covered with yellow grass rather than green grass.The best place to find them is the woods south of Faulty Splits and The Citadel. But players must be careful if they head out to The Citadel because that’s exactly where The Ageless(this map’s boss) spawns.
Claiming a location definitely helps find Oathbound Chests in a certain location, because this feature shows all treasures and opponents in the claimed location. The treasures will be highlighted in yellow and can be seen through the walls.
To claim a location, players only need to stand near its flag until it’s been raised up to the top. This should take about a minute or so. The area where gamers have to be during a certain time to claim the location is marked on the mini-map, making it much easier to find.
