The presence and demeanor of Jogo and the cursed spirit portray them as powerful, and Jogo believes in his power so much that he feels he could singlehandedly take Gojo out. The comedy stems from the situation Jogo finds himself in.
Jogo’s fight against Gojois one-sided, and even when he uses his domain expansion, Gojo tackles it with a much stronger one, showing he is on a higher pedestal than the cursed spirit. Viewers will expect a more balanced battle. However, the unexpected turnout of the fight adds a level of comedic twist and contributes to the humor. Who would have thought Gojo would toy around with the hot-headed cursed spirit?
2Boredom
Season 1, Episode 8
This episode includes other students from Kyoto Jujutsu School to add new faces to familiar ones like Megumi and Itadori from Tokyo Jujusu High. The students from Kyoto seem all hardcore untilthe weird Aoi Todobutts in and ask Megumi a very bizarre question that will take the viewers' aback. For a character with Todo’s physique and status as a sorcerer, he broke down in tears after receiving an unusual reply from Megumi.
Fans would have expected him to get into a fight for more honorable reasons and not for trivial ones. Todo’s weird yet amusing interaction with Megumi and the others contributed to his comedic appeal. Even though the rest of the episode seemed grim withthe cursed spirit Mahito’s presence, Todo’s first introduction in the series is not one to forget.

Season 1, Episode 1
The first episode ofJujutsu Kaisenopened with ayoung Itadori Yujitied to a chair with many cursed seals plastered to a wall. The opening denotes a grimmer sequence. However, it follows with a mix of comedic scenes to tighten the plot. The occult member scene with Itadori, Sasaki, and Guchi was hilarious. When the coach and the senior want to dissolve the Occult club, it adds humor to the scene, and fans can only expect the series to be a mixed bag of different themes.
The animation and visual elements in the episode contribute to the comedic effect of the first episode. Expressive facial reactions, exaggerated movements, and comedic timing enhance the humorous moments, adding to the episode’s appeal. The witty banter and funny exchanges between characters inject humor into the episode. The quick comebacks, sarcastic remarks, and playful teasing contribute to the episode’s comedic atmosphere and do not stop with Itadori’s grandfather’s death.
4Thunderclap
Season 2, Episode 16
The Shibuya Incident arcis one of the series’s darkest and most intense story arcs. It delves into fierce battles, special grades, and jujutsu sorcerers and presents significant emotional and psychological challenges for the characters. In addition,fans lost some of their favorite charactersin this arc, but even with the dark undertone it carries, there was room for humor.
In this particular episode, Panda and Kusakabe wander the Shibuya district to help survivors, and Kusakabe provides viewers with amusing facial expressions and internal bickering. However, when the sorcerer encountered two enemies and felt the ominous presence of the special-grade curses, his first instinct was to flee. Kusakabe’s remark to Panda that they are “ants” compared to the special grades (Sukuna and Jogo) fighting adds to the witty sense of humor and lighthearted moment.
5For Myself
Season 1, Episode 2
The second episode has a range of funny scenes with well-executed humor, including Gojo taking many pictures ofMegumi Fushigurofor being thrashed up by a cursed spirit to show his juniors. Even the dire event that came with the introduction of Gojo Satoru as a laid-back and eccentric teacher with a playful demeanor and exaggerated expressions provides comedic relief throughout the episode.
Coupled with that, Itadori’s imagination about Megumi’s beat-up body retrieving the fingers while he lazed around will bring a chuckle to any viewer’s face. This episode balanced intense action with lighthearted and humorous scenes even though the situation with Itadori eating accursed fingers is serious.
