A gamer has shown off a crazy clip where they defeatSkyrim’s strongest boss, the Ebony Warrior, in just a single hit. Underestimating the Ebony Warrior is amistake everySkyrimplayer makes on their first playthrough, and in most cases, it proves to be a fatal one.
Skyrimisn’t known for having particularly difficult bosses, but the Ebony Warrior is certainly the exception to the rule. Appearing only once the player reaches level 80, the Ebony Warrior arrives only to challenge the Dragonborn to a final duel. For unprepared players, he will be the toughest enemy in the entire game and is even able to utilize Dragon Shouts to defeat gamers. There’s a reason the fight comes with such a difficult reputation, making this clip all the more impressive.

Redditor Priest_of_lord_Chaos posted the clip of themdefeatingSkyrim’s Ebony Warrior. As the player takes their first swing, the game immediately goes into the kill cam and the Ebony Warrior dies in an instant. It’s a huge anti-climax to the most difficult enemy in the game, and even with the strongest build it shouldn’t be possible. Technically, it isn’t. According to the user, prior to the fight they were attacked by a legendary dragon. It’s almost certain that this weakened the Ebony Warrior to the point where he could be defeated in a single hit. They were playing on Expert difficulty, so it’s possible that moving it up to Legendary might have prevented this from being possible.
Gamers in the thread took to sharing their own battle stories about their encounters with the Ebony Warrior inSkyrim. One player shared their frustration about his Reflect Blow perk, which can often result in players being insta-killled by the opponent. Another player claimed to have been Shouted straight off the side of a mountain, managing to lose the fight via fall damage, of all things. He has certainly proven to be a worthy opponent over the years, even if there are some workarounds to make him easier to defeat.
It’s unlikely that the Ebony Warrior will make any kind of return inThe Elder Scrolls 6. This gives Bethesda the perfect opportunity to create a brand-new powerful opponent, without having to look back toSkyrim.Elder Scrollsgames have enough recurring characters already. M’aiq the Liar has appeared ineveryElder Scrollsgame sinceMorrowind, and Sheogorath has also made multiple appearances at this point. It would likely be much better forThe Elder Scrolls 6to produce some fresh ideas in this regard.
