Unlike most Elemental reactions inGenshin Impact, Burgeon requires three units with different Elements to trigger it. When Hydro meets Dendro, they trigger the Bloom reaction and create a Dendro Core that explodes after a few seconds. If players successfully hit the Dendro Core with a Pyro attack, it will trigger the Burgeon reaction and explode immediately to deal Dendro DMG in an AoE.

Having to create a team around a reaction that requires some kind of complexity may not sound appealing, but the effectiveness of Burgeon rewards the hard work put into creating its team inGenshin Impact.
5Ayato + Yelan + Dendro MC + Thoma
The most important units in any Burgeonteam comp inGenshin Impactare the Hydro and Dendro ones since they are the engine that keeps on creating the Dendro Cores. For that, players must focus on including characters that are able to continuously apply Dendro and Hydro. In this team comp, Ayato and Yelan are able to maintain a strong Hydro application on and off-field while Dendro Traveler can maintain a decent off-field Dendro application. As for Thoma, he plays an essential role to trigger all the generated Cores into Burgeon with his continuous Pyro attacks. It’s important to always apply Hydro on Dendro MC’s Burst in order to protect it from Thoma’s flames. If Pyro touches the Traveler’s Lotus Lamp, it will explode and the team will lose their Dendro application for a while.
Team Roles
4Kokomi + Nahida + Sucrose + Thoma
As a healer, Kokomi is more than comfortable taking the Main DPS role since when equipped with Ocean-Hued Clam,Kokomi is a decent damage dealer inGenshin Impact. This team takes advantage of her great all-around Hydro application by pairing her with Nahida that also has an incomparable Dendro application. Sucrose collects enemies and the Dendro Cores created by Kokomi and Nahida alongside greatly increasing the team’s Elemental Mastery. Finally, Thoma is a very effective Burgeon trigger in this team comp because of his slow Pyro attacks, which gives Kokomi and Nahida enough time to create Dendro Cores without Pyro triggering other reactions like Vaporize or Burning.
3Childe + Xiangling + Baizhu + Kazuha
With the amazing synergy between Childe and Xiangling where they constantly trigger theVaporize reaction inGenshin Impact, players can add another synergy that is just as good. To implement Burgeon reactions into Tartaglia teams, a Dendro character like Nahida or Baizhu must synergize with Childe to create the Dendro Cores in order for Xiangling to trigger them into Burgeon.Baizhuis a perfect choice for this team because of the survivability he adds to the team alongside his insane A4 Ascension buff.
With all that chaos, Kazuha will buff Childe’s Hydro DMG or Xiangling’s Pyro DMG whenever Kazuha Swirls one of the two Elements. It’s best if Kazuha focuses on Swirling Hydro as Xiangling has a massive Pyro application and a Burgeon team requires her to be paired with sufficient Hydro enablers.

2Alhaitham + Xingqiu + Collei + Thoma
AlhaithamandXingqiucan form aneffective pair inGenshin Impact. Both units create a constant number of Dendro Cores for Thoma to explode into Burgeon, withColleitriggering Deepwood Memories to debuff enemies.

It’s important to note that Alhaitham performs better in aHyperbloom team comp inGenshin Impact, considering he also needs Electro to amplify his damage through Quicken and Spread. Yet, his consistent Dendro application with the high damage he can provide makes him flexible to be in more team comps, such as this Burgeon team comp.
1Wanderer + Yelan + Nahida + Thoma
Wanderer is an amazing driver for manyoff-field DPS units inGenshin Impact. In this Burgeon team, adding Yelan and Nahida to operate behind the scenes while using Wanderer’s fast Normal attack hits can create a lot of Dendro Cores.

The damage this team can produce is insane, but it comes with a small setback. This team comp is extremely energy hungry, where both Yelan and Thoma are unable to get their own Bursts back by themselves. Since their Elemental Bursts are essential, it’s better to solve this issue by building more ER on both units or replacing Yelan with Xingqiu. Xingqiu’s overall damage is lower than Yelan, but he can get his Burst back without any help.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
