AGenshin Impactfan points out an interesting detail about the game’s Archons and their second-in-command. Archons are considered Gods in the world of Teyvat, and they possess unnatural powers that allow them to watch over their respective regions.
They also play a major role inGenshin Impact’s Archon Quests which are part of the game’s main storyline. Instead of Visions, Archons have a special item called Gnosis that allows them to communicate with Celestia which is rumored to be the residence of gods inGenshin Impact.

Watching over a whole nation is certainly not an easy task which is why each of the Archons has a second-in-command who in some cases works even harder than their leader. Reddit user Weary_Traveler_404 has pointed out an interesting pattern with the four currently available Archons and their main helpers. The official storyline has confirmed that each of thesevenGenshin ImpactArchonscontrols a different element which becomes a symbol of their region. But many players did not notice that even the second-in-charge characters for each region also have the same elements as their Archons. Some comments claim that Weary_Traveler_404 should’ve put Yae Miko instead of Sara on the list, but that would still not affect the pattern since Yae is also an Electro user.
Even the recently released Dendro user Alhaitham, who serves as the Acting Grand Sage in Sumeru, shares the same element as Lesser Lord Kusanali, also known as Nahida. He is currently available on the Limited Character Banner alongside the Anemo user Xiao. Despite being a new character,Genshin Impact’s recent revenue reportshave revealed that many players actually skipped Alhaitham’s banner.
The main reason is probably the fact that his release is sandwiched between two strong double banners. The previous cycle brought a re-run for Raiden Shogun, who is probably themost popular character inGenshin Impact. The Ayato and Raiden re-run even broke the game’s overall sales record for regular banners. Many fans claim that the following banner is even more stacked since it will feature the long-awaited Pyro polearm user, Hu Tao.
Some fans claim thatMondstadt’s Anemo user Jeanshould not be on the list since she just fills the role of the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius while Varka is on his expedition. Even though he is described as one of the most important characters in all of Teyvat, Varka is yet to appear in the official storyline.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
