Genshin Impactfans suspect that the Anemo user Sucorose might be related to one of the upcoming Dendro characters named Baizhu. Even though Baizhu’s first appearance was back in the earliest Archon chapters, he is yet to officially become part of the playable roster.
The main reason whyGenshin Impactdid not turn Baizhu into a playable character is probably the fact that he uses the Dendro element which was not part of any characters' kit for over two years. The first two Dendro users, Collei and Tighnari, were added in the recent Genshin Impact update 3.0 which also introduced the new Sumeru region.

At the moment, Baizhu serves as a quest-exclusive NPC who is best known for owning the Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue Harbor. Since his first appearance in the “Guizhong” quest, players have started speculating about this unique character whose true motives still remain unclear. Reddit user mrsllebina has shared two interesting screenshots comparing Baizhu with afour-star character named Sucrose. The post claims that the two characters might actually be related since they have a very similar design. Both of them have green hair which is not common in the game and their outfits also share the same color palette.
A lot of comments also pointed out that, assumingBaizhu becomes playable in the future, he and Sucrose will be the only two characters in the roster that have glasses. According to some fans, the main reason why this theory might not be true is the fact that the characters come from different regions. Baizhu plays an important role in Liyue while Sucrose is connected to the Mondstadt region. The Anemo user is known for spending most of her time experimenting and researching bio-alchemy with her mentor Albedo.
Another popular theory about Baizhu is that he might berelated to one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers named Pantalone. While they don’t share the same color theme, both characters have a very similar model design. Some fans even think that the two could actually be the same person and Baizhu might just be a performance that Pantalone uses for collecting information from the Liyue region.
There is still no official information about Baizhu’s release date, but recent rumors have stated that he will probably arrive inGenshin Impactversion 3.6. When it comes to his role, credible leakers claim thatBaizhu will have strong shielding capabilitiesthat will make him one of the best supports in the game.
