Genshin ImpactVersion 2.6 has finally introduced one of the most anticipated characters, Kamisato Ayato, to the playable roster. However, with the update having been out for a little while now, coming to an end, many players have already started speculating about the five-star characters that will arrive in the next patch.
Thankfully, the officialGenshin ImpactTwitter account has already confirmed the two characters that will appear on the Version 2.7. The fact that only one five-star character is announced means that one of the two banner cycles will likely include a banner re-run for a limited five-star character.

A post on the popularGenshin Impactleaks subReddit apparently reveals that Arataki Itto and Xiao will receive banner re-runs inGenshin ImpactVersion 2.7. According to the leak, Xiao will be a part of the first banner cycle alongside the new Hydro bow user Yelan. The second part of the update will bring the Geo claymore user Arataki Itto, and he will apparently be the only character featured on the banner just like it was the case with Ayaka in the current version 2.6. Multiple previous rumors have been hinting that the new four-star character, Kuki Shinobu, will appear on the same banner as Itto, probably because they are both part of the Arataki Gang.
These leaks should be taken with a grain of salt since, unlike most other in-game features, banner re-runs are much harder to predict since the beta phase for the update usually does not include any files about the re-runs. However, another popularGenshin Impactleaker named Ubatcha1 has shared the official event art for the upcoming update. The art features the same names mentioned in the previous leak and the characters that appear on announcement visuals are usually part of theGenshin ImpactLimited Banner.
Fans are surprised by Xiao’s third appearance considering that he had his first re-run back in Version 2.4. Even though he is one of the older limited five-star characters, Xiao is still considered one of thestrongest DPS characters inGenshin Impactalongside Eula or Ganyu. However, while he can perform at a high level with no constellation, he becomes probably the best character in the game once he unlocks his sixth constellation, Conqueror of Evil: Guardina Yaksha.
Itto’s first arrival was back inGenshin ImpactVersion 2.3 in where he was placed on the second banner cycle after his Geo colleague Albedo and the Cryo claymore user Eula. He is considered to be the first true five-star Geo DPS character and his arrival has started the trend of includingfour Geo characters in the same party.
