Alhaitham has played a very important role inGenshin Impact’s Sumeru storyline which is the main reason why he is about to join the playable roster. He will arrive alongside another Dendro character named Yaoyao, who is expected to have a lower four-star rarity.

Previous leaks have revealed thatAlhaitham will be a new Dendro sword user with strong DPS potential. A new post on the popularGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit shows his performance when put in the Spread team composition. This type of team comp revolves around an elemental reaction named Spread, which is considered a sub-reaction as it can only be triggered by dealing Dendro damage to enemies affected by the Quicken aura. In order to apply Quicken, players need to combine Electro with the recently released Dendro element. Spread’s main effect is to increase any outgoing Dendro damage which is great for Dendro DPS characters like Alhaitham and Tighnari.

The team composition in the video consists of the new Dendro user Alhaitham and three Electro characters: Kuki Shinobu, Fischl, and Beidou. All three supportive characters have great Electro application with Kuki Shinobu serving as the main healer for this type of team. The fact that Alhaitham can infuse his Normal Attacks with Dendro makes is the main reason why he needs to be the only Dendro character in this type of team comp. Having astrong Dendro applicator like Nahidawould probably overpower the Electro element in this party which would interfere with triggering Spread.

Some fans have been complaining that Alhaitham’s fighting style seems a bit recycled as many consider him to be just a Dendro version of the Electro character Keqing. However, even though their skill animations seem very similar, their actual playstyle is completely different as Alhaitham focuses more onusing his Chisel-Light Mirror stacks to infuse his attacks with Dendro.

It should be noted that the video was taken from a private server, meaning that the actual damage numbers are inaccurate. When it comes to Alhaitham’s exact release date, he is rumored to appear on the first banner of theupcomingGenshin Impactupdate 3.4. Players expect Alhaitham and Yaoyao to arrive on the same banner which would make acquiring both characters a much easier task.

Genshin Impactis available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version also in development.
