As fans continue to speculate aboutwhereGrand Theft Auto 6will take place,GTA Onlinecontinues to be a driving force for Rockstar.Onlinehas become an experience unto itself at this point. It is an entirely different world from the core game,GTA 5, with the online community living together in a paradoxical anarchic harmony. However, changes have been made to Los Santos Customs to combat the agents of chaos known as griefers.
With such a massive player base, and so many different ways to playGTA Online, there are bound to be folks who just want to watch the world burn. Griefers make it their goal to sabotage the plans of other players. Between griefers anda spate of newGTA Onlinehackersjoining the ranks after Epic madeGTA 5free on its games store, a casual online session can quickly be ruined.

Reddit user Mondoblasto noted that one location in the game is now safer from potential griefer attacks, and that is Los Santos Customs.Grand Theft Auto Onlineplayers can visit the car shop to pimp their ride, or trade in a vehicle for some cash. Now, when trading in a personal vehicle (as opposed to a recently stolen one) that cash goes directly to a player’s in-game bank account, instead of into their wallet. There is always the looming threat of griefers camping out at Los Santos Customs locations, waiting for players to emerge with a wad of cash from a fresh sale, and robbing them to make a quick buck. After some more tests, Redditors discovered that this applies to personal vehicles only, and the change was perhaps implemented a couple months ago. It is a wonder it took this long for it to become public knowledge.
Sometimes it just takes a while for something to be discovered, such as the ability towear CEO outfits inGTA Onlinewithout actually having the cash to become a CEO. While that exploit just makes a player look fancy, the cash flow situation at Los Santos Customs is good knowledge for players to have, especially if the bank transactions aren’t obvious.
The fact that a 7 year old game is still generating this much activity in its community is a testament to Rockstar’s support of the title. With the lifetime sales ofGTA 5now topping 120 million, and fans speculating on all aspects of the next game in the series,Grand Theft Auto 6, the franchise has found a winning formula with the main single-player experience coupled with the massive online world.
While griefers may have been thwarted from picking on hapless victims flush with cash from car sales, that won’t stop them from annoying players any way they can. They’ll find new ways to troll, likejumping in the Mystery Machineand running players down.
