Explaining the Additional Scenes in Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade

There are a couple ofextra scenes tacked on at the end ofIntergradethat perfectly set up the sequel. The first scene is a joy to watch, while not exactly a surprise as it brings back something beloved from the original game. The second scene is a bit more mysterious and hints at how the continuing story will branch away from the original, but it’s good to know that some of those familiar scenes and locations will still get some love. Going forward, it will be important to mix the old with the new.

In the extra scenes, the team is scene making the hike to Kalm, a small town outside of Midgar. It’s a long walk, so while resting Tifa attempts to teach Aerith how to hail a cab. Luckily, it only takes a few seconds for a car to show up and opt to give them a ride, and the driver is none other than Chocobo Bill. It’s a small appearance and those who don’t remember Chocobo Bill wouldn’t have thought anything of it, but for longstanding fans, it was anothernostalgia hit forFinal Fantasy 7 Remake.

Chocobo Bill’s Appearance Confirms the Farm is Coming

In the originalFinal Fantasy 7,Chocobo Billwasn’t a huge character. He gave the party some guidance on how to get across the swamp and rents out stables for Chocobo breeding, but that’s about it. One of the best parts ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewas how it spent time with and developed minor characters like Jessie, Wedge, and Biggs, so it’s safe to assumePart 2will expand upon Chocobo Bill’s role and create a more fleshed-out character.

It came as a pleasant surprise when Chocobo Bill showed up in the final scenes ofIntergradeto give the team a ride to Kalm, a small town outside of Midgar. But even if Square Enix does give Bill more of a backstory and personality than what he had inFinal Fantasy 7,the most exciting thing about his appearance is the confirmation that there will be a Chocobo Farm. Sorry, Bill.

The Possibilities for Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Chocobo Farm Are Endless

The Chocobo Farm is essential to getting into the Mythril Mine, but it also opens up a ton of gameplay possibilities. Traditionally, players could use theChocobo Farm to breed different colored Chocobos, which could then be used to reach unique locations in the game. Having the right variety of Chocobo could be the difference between getting to a secret location or obtaining rare Materia.

The Chocobo Farm also opens up anopportunity for racing Chocobos, which, let’s be honest, would be absolutely incredible inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake. Some of the highlights of the first game were the highway racing scenes where Cloud simultaneously fights and rides a motorbike. Basically, imagine that but make it cute. Chocobo racing is the kind of thing players could easily get addicted to and could be made even more engaging with innovative gameplay and obstacles, but if Chocobo Bill’s farm is making a comeback it’s practically guaranteed that fans will get to breed and race their own flightless birds inPart 2.

Intergradealso included a great littlemini-game in the form of Fort Condor, so maybePart 2will include more of the same. Racing Chocobos would be a great way to take a break after hunting down Sephiroth.Intergradeopened up a lot of interesting and exciting threads that will certainly be expanded upon inPart 2,making the wait that much more difficult.
