As they make their way through the game’s main story,Starfieldplayers will eventually learnthe truth about what happened to Earth. Once they do, they’ll realize why the planet is now little more than a giant ball of sand, with just about every man-made structure having been wiped from the face of the planet along with all obvious signs of life.
RELATED:Starfield: Every Landmark on Earth (& How to Unlock Them)
There are still one or two Earth landmarks that players can visit inStarfieldthough, one of which is the iconic Empire State Building. Unfortunately, unlocking the coordinates of the New York Landmark requires a little bit of legwork, with players needing to find a special item in order to pinpoint the Big Apple’s exact location on their map.
How to Visit the Empire State Building in Starfield (New York Landmark)
As is the case withThe Shardand The Pyramids, pinpointing the exact location of The Empire State Building inStarfieldrequires players to find a book, In this case, however, rather than buying the book from a bookstore, they’ll instead need to steal it from the MAST building in New Atlantis. The book in question is calledOur Lost Heritageand it can be found on the desk of President Abello, whose office is on one of the upper floors.
To reach the President’s office, players should ride the NAT to the city’s MAST District and then take a left to find the elevator. From here, they’ll want to activate the panel and choose the third option from the top, which reads “Central Command / Office of the President / System Defence”. They’ll then need to take a right after getting out of the elevator, which will lead them to the President’s office. Our Lost Heritage is on the right side of the President’s desk.

After picking up the book, “Visit the New York Landmark on Earth” will be added to the player’s list of activities, at which point, the New York Landing Site will be added to the player’s map of Earth. From here, players should leave the building, after which, they’ll be free tofast travel over to the SOL system, where, among the debris and sand, they’ll find what’s left of the Empire State Building.
There’s not really much to do here, as, like the planet on which it can be found, the Empire State Building is a little worse for ware. It still makes for a pretty sweet picture though for those who enjoyusingStarfield’s Photo Mode. What’s more, if players make their way around to the right side of the building, they’ll be able to find the New York snow globe sitting on a rock.

Starfieldis available now for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
