How Fans Can Prepare for Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0’s Imminent Release
BeforeCall of Duty: Warzone 2.0drops next week, fans may want to spend an hour or two watching some of the gameplay from the recent Call of Duty Next event. At this event, a bunch ofpopularCall of Dutystreamerswere invited to try outWarzone 2.0for the first time. Watching just an hour or two of this footage should give players a general idea of Al Mazrah’s maps, and a few of the most important points of interest. Learning about these new POIs will give fans an immediate edge over the competition on launch day, as they’ll likely know where the hot drops will be, and where the best loot locations are.
Watching some of the recentCall of Duty Next eventwill also inform fans of some of the changes coming withWarzone 2.0. While the sequel follows much of the same conventions as the firstWarzone, there are a few key differences between the titles, and long-timeWarzonefans might be a bit taken aback on launch day if they’re not fully prepared.
Some of the biggest changes coming inCall of Duty: Warzone 2.0revolve around the tweaked loot system. Rather than open up containers and watch the loot pour onto the ground, players will now be forced to go into a looting menu, where they manually select what they want from the container. One of the other big differences is that custom loadouts will no longer be available, at least not in the same way. While players will still apparently be able to purchase a weapon and customize it through the shop, loadout drops won’t fall from the sky anymore.Warzone 2.0is also changing how the Gulag works, putting players in a 2v2 as opposed to a 1v1.Warzone 2.0will also feature Strongholds, filled with tough AI enemiesthat will yield unique rewards if all are defeated.
While watching someCall of Duty: Warzone 2.0streams are sure to prepare players pretty well for the game’s release, those who already purchasedCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2may have a slight edge over those who didn’t. With a week already in the game, and a week to go beforeWarzone 2.0drops,Modern Warfare 2players are able to get a good feel of each weapon in the game, and each gadget. Using this experience withModern Warfare 2, players should already have a good idea of what weapons are going to be included in the early meta inWarzone 2.0.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0releases on November 16 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
