TheCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 3 update is out now, adding a wealth of new content to the game. As usual, this includes some new characters, like Alex from theModern Warfarecampaign, as well as a fan favorite character from a pastCall of Dutygame.

Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 3 adds Riley, the dog fromCall of Duty: Ghosts, to the mix. However, not everyone will be able to unlock Riley, as there is an extra step players have to take first.

The first stepCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers have to take to unlock Riley in the game is to purchase the Battle Pass. Unfortunately, Riley is not available in the free version of theSeason 3 Battle Pass, and so players will have to spend at least 1,000 COD Points to get the dog. When that’s done, the next step to unlocking Riley inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis reaching tier 20 in the Battle Pass, which is done simply by playing the game and earning XP.

Upon unlocking Riley, players will be able to use the dog as part of their Finishing Moves. Toperform a Finishing Move inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, players need to sneak up behind an enemy player and hold in the melee button. Instead of simply hitting their opponent with a melee strike, this should trigger an extended animation that shows Riley going in for the kill instead.

It should be pointed out that Riley isn’t the only dog that players can get inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. Those that purchase theTalon multiplayer bundlewill also be able to get a dog, though this one is named Indiana. Like Riley, Indiana is used as part of Talon’s Finishing Move in the game.

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see if other characters or content fromCall of Duty: Ghostsmake their way toModern Warfare. So far, Infinity Ward has focused onremakingCall of Duty 4mapsas well as maps fromMW2, so it remains to be seen how extensively the developers will feature other games in the franchise.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
